how do i get rid of fixed units
Actually two questions I am trying to get rid of fixed units in a existing scenario, and would like to know how to generate a multiplayer game using The Ortona scenario as i am a huge fan of house to house fighting.

Re: how do i get rid of fixed units
You can either delete a unit (hold down the Del key and left click on the unit you want to delete, note you will delete any loaded unit first) or you can make them non-fixed by hitting the F key while the mouse is over the unit.
As for multiplayer Ortona - someone shares your love of the scenario!

What platform are you on? And are you in unit placement mode when you try it?

Hi jesdazone
BA is as good game as short of documentation.
I'll put an example I learned (trying and seeing)
In the editor:
- you must define how many points will the players have to buy units (BA only allow that the same points for both players)
This is a two arrows < 0 > at the bottom left of the editor screen.
- then put in the board the units you want the players buy (must be put as not fixed)
- if you put some fixed units on the board these will be available to the side without purchasing them
exemple:
1 Sherman fixed
10 Sherman not fixed
1 US infantry fixed
10 US infantry not fixed
Points 700
When the MultiPlayer starts the US side will see a screen with a:
- Sherman with 1/0 and the possibility to buy shermans (while points left)
- Infantry with 1/0 and the possibility to buy infantry (while points left)

Re: how do i get rid of fixed units
What exactly happens? The ability to delete and fix/unfix units it used every day by the team, so I know they work
. Please make sure you are using the keys in the correct way (you need to hold the Delete key and then left click, for example).
If that still isn't working, please write down exactly what you are doing with the mouse and keyboard and what is happening.

PIP:
Your assistance helped me get rid of the fixed units finally now i need some additional help perhaps a tutorial on how to take an existing multi player game and convert it so the my firend and i can play step by step instructions would be most appreciated. I am taking the Ortona scenario and want to make it so that we by our forces and deploy them and make it a true street fight from turn one. Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.

Re: how do i get rid of fixed units
To begin tinkering with a mission, place it in the MULTIPLAYER folder in your My Documents/My Games/BBCBA folder. It will then show up in the editor list for you to tinker with.
In MP games you can only deploy currently if you are the first side. And simply saving a game with non-fixed units will allow them to be picked. You would probably need to remove or cut down the mission script to prevent some of the single player logic from kicking in. Unless of course you are starting with the existing MP Ortona.
I would recommend looking through the wiki modding docs first to get started.
