Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’42-43 West and Panzer Corps v1.11 Now Available!
The war in the Western Front rages on, from Dieppe to Messina!

We are excited to announce, along with Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com), The Lordz Games Studio (www.lordzgamesstudio.com), and Flashback Games, the release of Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’42-43 West, the latest DLC for the critically-acclaimed and award-winning operational strategy game Panzer Corps.

The focus of the Grand Campaign series now moves to the Western Front as the British and American armies and their allies begin their counter-offensives to push Germany out of captured territory. With a series of hit-and-run raids, the Allies are probing German defenses on the coasts before launching the expected European mainland invasion. The task for the player is simple, repel the Allies’ efforts and push them back!

Grand Campaign ’42-’43 West features 14 new scenarios, from the landings at Dieppe and Salerno, to battles at Syracuse and Messina in Italy, including a host of new features implemented from the recently-released Panzer Corps: Afrika Korps. Players can use their core force from previously-completed Grand Campaigns and continue to gain experience and upgraded equipment, giving the truly unique experience of raising and fielding an army from the start of World War II to the bitter end. Players can also jump into any of these Grand Campaigns with a preset core force and play each one on its own.

Along with the release of Grand Campaign ’42-43 West comes the release of the v1.11 comprehensive update for Panzer Corps. The update adds a range of new options to the editor and new tile sets for scenario creators. A few bug fixes are also included on the update, most importantly fixing a crash related to ambush and issues with mods that were created for v1.05 of Panzer Corps. Scenario list: St. Nazaire, Bayonne, Hardelot, Dieppe, Gironde, Syracuse, Etna Line North, Etna Line South, Messina, Salerno Landing, Salerno Counter-Attack, Catanzaro, Taranto, Volturno Line.

Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’42-’43 West is an expansion and requires a copy of either Panzer Corps or Panzer Corps: Afrika Korps to play. For more information on Panzer Corps Grand Campaign ’42-43 West, visit the official product page on the Slitherine or Matrix Games website.

The full changelog for v1.11 is below:

Bug fixes
  • Fixed a crash bug related to the "Undo" option when being ambushed.
    Fixed a ZOC issues related to the "Undo" option.
    Fixed a number of map string bugs including issues in other languages and invalid strings in save/load.
    Fixed a few issues when using Panzer Corps 1.10 with mods intended for 1.05.
    Fixed cities and airfields in muddy and frozen tilesets to match dry tileset.

Editor
  • Added all desert-related tiles to muddy and frozen tilesets.
    Added new option to the Editor (Scenario Params, General tab): "Clean reserve after deploy". This allows you to design campaigns with part of the core force.
    The editor now allows negative hero bonuses.
    Custom unit's max strength is now preserved after upgrade.

Great, I just got home and will buy the West GC within the next minutes. :)

-> QUESTION: Do I have to download the 1.11 Update as well or will it be included in the "West GC" DLC?

Just downloaded the new DLC and finished the first two missions -> Great!
Is there a campain tree of this campain somewhere?
I'm from Austria, sorry for my english ;)

Thanks for the new patch!

My first results testing with DMP-Mod are:

* fixed: PC crash if an unit uses an order with zone and this zone is not defined
* fixed: PC crash if you use an 1.05 mod with the 1.10 exe (missed hero1,2,3.png files) if the player got an hero

I only started the scenarios and checked the city strings:

* using a complete 1.05 mod (like DMP Ostfront 2.0) with 18+2 terrains (no desert..) with 1.11 exe -> ok, save+reload -> ok
* using a 1.05 scenario with 22+2 terrains with 1.11 exe -> ok, save+reload -> ok

LOOK AT SUCH CONFIGURATIONS:
* using a 1.10 scenario with 22+2 terrains with 1.11 exe -> not ok __________________ If I load&save the scenario with the 1.11 editor and redo the test -> ok, save+reload -> ok
* using a savegame from 1.10 with mixed strings and loading in 1.11 -> not ok, but it is not a problem. If I start a new scenario with 1.11 all savegames I make are okay.

not implemented in 1.11:
* language support for message boxes (I dont found it)
* center on action in turn 1 - I now use the message box without center on

not implemented in 1.11:
* language support for message boxes (I dont found it)
Not sure if you mean this, just on a side note a full German translated version will be released together with German retail release dates, as far as I know that is in a few weeks.

I don't think there's a printed one any where yet. But it's not hard to describe: There is branching at two points:

1) Following Syracuse (#6), you can play the Etna Line north (#7a, vs. Americans), or Etna Line South (#7b, vs. british). Both courses take you to #8, Messina.
2) Following Messina (#8), you can defend against British and Italians (#9a and #10a, Catanzaro and Taranto), or Americans (#9b/#10b), Salerno Landing and Salerno Counter-Attack.

I don't think there were any DV/MV dependent paths. Sorry i don't have the graphics program or skills to make one, but somebody will whip one up soon I am sure.

So if you want to save files to go play later paths, save games #6/Syracuse and #8/Messina on the last turn.

Damn you release those DLCs too quickly. Just finishing second run of whole DLC East and was planning to go for Afrika Korps and now this?
Well... Afrika Korps will have to wait a bit it seems ;) , good job anyway :)

If I would make a Mod with german and english language support - I have to make DIFFERENT scenario files. In 1.05 I could use only a changed PZLOC file to give a german scenario english text. Now, because the text of the messages boxes is not available in PZLOC file and only saved in the scenario file, I have to create two scenarios with different message box text.

Its good to hear, that this issue will be updated next time.

I've tried 3 times to down load and everytime it stops at the end and can not confirm the download.

Hi Razz,

It is because of traffic, just try when things cool down a bit, with the new DLC and new patch out at the same time, the servers will struggle with so many people downloading at the same time.

Yes, you better wait on the German retail release by DTP, check Amazon.de for more info, but as I recall it is just a few weeks away... the German full translation should be made available at the same time.

We can not wait, because testing the upcoming DMP-Mod. But we do it with the german version and count on Slitherine for the anounced update for our next release. :)

Look at my first post on this tread.
I did not found any problems, but:
* old savegames with city-string-mix will (im my testing case) not be corrected
* look at your 1.10 scenarios. Perhaps you have to load and save it with editor 1.11

I am going to go back and play the Grand Campaign again so I can build up a core force for the Grand Campaign 42-43. Does the game import my core army from the end of Grand Campaign 41' or at the end of Grand Campaign 42'?

In case anyone else is curious before purchasing though, DLC 42/43 West will accept an imported core from a complete DLC41 campaign. In other words, any CORE that is eligible to start DLC42 is also eligible to start DLC 42/43 West. :)
