That doesn't mean that another version pack won't work. I've ffdshow working in more than one Windows system and don't have the audio issue.
For example the link that I've posted above with a K-Lite version, has ffdshow included, and it seems to be working with most people (at least that was what they reported back).
That doesn't mean that will work in your system. Each system is a case.
