Finished rebasing - YAY!

Post by shadowdragon »

It's taken over 6 months (since the release of the FoGN rule set) but it's done....well, sort of... The re-basing is done but I've converted from individual battalions at 1:50 (and cavalry regiments at 1:40) troop scale. The battalions ranged from 12-16 figures with figures 2 or 4 to a base in a single rank. With the conversion a battalion will be 2 bases (2 battalions for a small BG and 3 for a large BG). This means that I'm short 2 to 4 figures per battalion to make up the full 16 figures per two bases. Prussians, French, Italians, Neapolitan and Saxons are done. Working on the Austrians with the Russians, Spanish and British "reinforcements" waiting.

Why bother at all? Why not just combine 2 old bases (of 4 figures) for a FoG base? Well, the old bases were too small (old WRG sizing - 30mm wide / actually 36mm since I could never fit 4 figures on 30mm but even then they were cramped), I got tired of moving "fiddly bits" (small bases) around and other rules, like LaSalle, use the same basing as FoG.

So...easier to count the job by divisions

French - 12
Polish - 2
Bavaria - 1
(French) Spain - 2
Saxony - 3
Italy - 3
Naples - 3
Russia - 7
Hesse-Kassel - 1
Austria - 6
Early Prussia - 4
Later Prussia - 1
(Not French) Spain - 4
Britain 5
