2.1 Official release
After long waiting for the GS 2.1 's release , We feel disapoint to the delay of the official release . Even though there are thousands of fans still watching & waiting for the GS 2.1 ! Since there are too many great changes from GS 2.1 to 2.0 , it is meanningless to play 2.0 anymore .
Is there anyone who can do me a favour to tell me that when will be GS 2.1's official release by the great Slitherine ?

Re: 2.1 Official release
We are struggling a bit with the Slitherine GS v2.1 installer. Some testers seem to have issues while others seem to install it without problems. We have to figure out why some people can't run the game after running the installer.
The worst we can do is to release the installer prematurely and risk that maybe 25% of you end up with problems and a corrupted game. The main problem is that there are several versions of the vanilla game out (old Slitherine, Matrix, Gold etc.) and they might be installed to different locations. It seems like those who have the Gold version don't have any problems while some of the others might get into trouble.

Re: 2.1 Official release
Any chance of restoring numerical casualties, as in v1?

Re: 2.1 Official release
No, but you can calculate your own, using a spreadsheet for example, if you wish. The conversion factors are:marklv wrote:Any chance of restoring numerical casualties, as in v1?
Men (infantry): 5028 per infantry & mech step.
AFVs (armored fighting vehicles which include tanks): 520 per tank step.
Planes: 260 per air step.
Ship: 5 per naval step.
Re: 2.1 Official release
Excuse me , I had a little confused : I think it should be 520 per tank unit , 52 per tank step ; 260 per air unit ,26 per air step .rkr1958 wrote:No, but you can calculate your own, using a spreadsheet for example, if you wish. Am I wrong ?
Re: 2.1 Official release
Yes, you are correct. It's 52 per tank step and 26 per air step. The 520 and 260 were for full 10-step units. Thanks for catching that!Morris wrote:Excuse me , I had a little confused : I think it should be 520 per tank unit , 52 per tank step ; 260 per air unit ,26 per air step .rkr1958 wrote:No, but you can calculate your own, using a spreadsheet for example, if you wish. Re: 2.1 Official release
Slitherine will have to give the information about the release date. They need to make the expansion available on their WEB site and have the promotion information ready on a WEB site.
We don't know their plans about this. All we have done is to give Slitherine information that the installer works well enough to be released. That means there are no more hurdles to cross before release.

Re: 2.1 Official release
so we have to watch the Slitherine web everyday to check acout the message ? or we may get the message earlier from you ?
Re: 2.1 Official release
I'm sure we'll all be "informed" at the same time. They're close, very close to release. And truthfully, that's as much as I know.Morris wrote:so we have to watch the Slitherine web everyday to check acout the message ? or we may get the message earlier from you ?

Re: 2.1 Official release
I'll drink to that! (Idea: labs in 2.2 for better beer development, with appropriate focus categories.)
