Unknown custom scenario

When I want to accept challenge , a map, it usually says " unknown custom scenario".

Do I need to get extension pack or is it single maps from different users?

Some of the scenarios may be free user campaigns which are downloadable via the Campaign Screen (folder button top left) - some may be user scenarios that have been made by other users but not added to the official download list. If you are playing on PC or Mac you can search them out here on the forums, or wait until the next update where even iPad users will be able to grab any user scenario.

If i do not have the expansion, can i still see expansion maps and their names when someone creates mission? or if it is expansion i will see " unknown custom scenario" as well?

I'm not sure off the top of my head. I know that the system checks for expansions, so I think it would tell you in the tooltip that you need the expansion.
