What new armies in V2?

Post by richafricanus »

What new armies (ie seldom seen in v1) do people think are likely to become more common in v2? I'm hoping to be able to try something entirely different, Monty Python style.

I'd like to think I can bring out my berbers and Merovinginas without them being crushed in open competitions. Though I fear my Middle Kingdom Egyptians will remain very weak.

I don't think there is anything that ground breaking. Just try different armies anyway. Even if they aren't that good it confuses people as they spend ages trying to figure out why you picked it.

I think more protected CV types may work.
Elephant armies will deserve a look.
Foot bow may have a role, but that is yet to be seen.
Someone might wangle a fun barbarian type configuration depending on how these superior upgrades work out.

Armoured Knights will certainly be worth looking at now as well.
