Jagdpanzer IV Antitank AK
What is the point of offering me this item for purchase/update on the very last turn of the last scenario ie turn 37/37 British India???
I cant use it or update my other Antitank equipment as it is the last turn. Is this because you will be expanding the game at some point?
Re: Jagdpanzer IV Antitank AK
The game reads the equipment file and gives the notice at the first turn on or after a unit's availability. All the games, for continuity and simplicity, use the same equipment file.
I agree it's annoying, though, getting notices mid-scenario. I wish you'd only get notices during a deployment phase, and ones during a battle would be held. I think it would be a little smoother and more logical.

While that may sometimes be the case, scenario design around these dates can also be important and meaningful.
The best example I can think of is Tatsinkaya of DLC42. That's an extremely rough scenario if there ever was one, and although you don't start with Tigers, they do become available during the course of the scenario, and they help immensely. Even to the point where its worth buying a few fresh ones as soon as they are available (disband later to reclaim the prestige at the start of DLC43), or even using up a turn to upgrade a tank to a Tiger mid scenario just to have a strong answer to high experience and somewhat overwhelming Soviet forces.

Yeah, it's a bit unfortunate getting the update notice at the very end, but in general I'm pro the current system with msgs arriving mid-game if they hit eqp entry dates...
Re: Jagdpanzer IV Antitank AK
I recall that, and it's true that's a possible beneficial use. But, it's just so very illogical to think a unit would, mid-battle, be able to discard old equipment, familiarize themselves with entirely new equipment, and then pick up and be fully effective - all within a few hours? I try always to think of things as being as realistic as possible and less "gamey." Upgrading equipment mid-battle is kinda hokey in my mind. Buying a green unit with empty core capacity - that makes sense, as it could be a green unit fresh from the replacement pipepline - not a stretch there.Kerensky wrote:or even using up a turn to upgrade a tank to a Tiger mid scenario just to have a strong answer to high experience and somewhat overwhelming Soviet forces.
