From the way you turned over that first VG unit in Merville, I'm not sure we'd be happy to lose you to the enemy, Mike! Let's see what Granfali says, if timezone continues to be an issue...

Haha... History repeating itself?... A Spanish General and Swedish PzSS versus two Americans, a Brit and Frenchman... All we need now is a real German, an Italian, a Russian and a Pole... Plus some ANZACs to look after the barbie... :P

Let's see Mike... I'd like to keep you on our team... Granfali has some local friends who might join soon...

@Granfali... Thinking out of the box... because two of my commanders are trying to defect (would you believe it?! lol!!)

There are six of us playing GJS at present... You're achieving amazing things with game design, map design, gameplay... This whole campaign is phenomenal... But sometimes it's proving challenging to play over far flung timezones...

So we were wondering, maybe we should split into two actual teams?
Perhaps an Axis of Granfali + Al (morge4) + Mike (k9mike)
versus Allies of Jon (GL88) + John (Gort) + Random (just realised that I genuinely don't know your real name, Monsieur Random? )

We all know what we're doing by now, so I'm pretty sure that language isn't going to be a problem...

Granfali: I may be leaving early from work today. Keep a look-out for an early turn from me. Maybe we can get in 3-4 turns today before it gets too late for you.

Haha, I admire that man's confidence!!

But I'm not so sure what the outcome might be when the German heavy panzers arrive... Particularly if Granfali agrees to split his commitments across a team of mates... So far, we've had it easy, first fighting VGs, then infantry only, then a few StuGs and Marders... Most of us haven't even fought PzIVs yet... Let alone the really bad boys, lol...

Don't forget, I've seen what you lads can do... What was it that Wellington said?
"I don't know what effect these men will have upon the enemy, but, by God, they frighten me"... ;-)

See,...I prefer to quote American Generals,...even if they use French:

Yeah, I gotta admit Patton wins an award for awesomeness of quotes...

"Go forward until the last round is fired and the last drop of gas is expended... then go forward on foot!"
"May God have mercy on my enemies, because I won't"
"Success is how high you bounce after you hit bottom"

and my personal favourite...
"Lead me, follow me, or get out of my way"

Mike/Al...

Began a Bois de Bavent "test" with Random and realised that I should have warned you about something... Remember that one side (the Brits) is also testing the wider deployment (into about 2/3 of the map), so this is effectively an Attack-Defence, with the Germans attacking entrenched Brits.

I forgot to bump up the numbers of units to make it a 26-20 as an A-D, so this scenario should prove pretty difficult for the Germans... But knowing you two, you've figured out all of the above already, right? Let me know what you think...

Still haven't heard back from Granfali, so it looks like you're stuck with me and wearing green... Hope that's ok?

Personally I think we are playing with a very high turns ratio. It is true that some battles are lasting more than others but, with a strategic turn per week ratio I feel very satisfied.

A minor problem to add is that german player doesn't deploy so, if I introduce more german players, they have to conform with my deployment.

How many US players have we got? Morge4, Gort??? The only possible change I can consider for the moment is to introduce a US player (to avoid timezone differences). But if a player agrees, he has to accept the deploy issue.

Al/Mike, What Granfali is saying is that he's happy to recruit one of you, if you reeeally want to, to help to improve any time zone issues... BUT, and this is a big but, until we can figure out how to cheat BA into permitting two-way MP deploy, whoever becomes a German commander must trust Granfali's good sense to position his troops in a strong formation...

Its probably just better off leaving it the way it is. Even if you add a person from US to German side it will still have similar difficulty cause you could end up playing an Allie that is in Europe. Thus it would still have the possibllity of abit of a lag in a sector, just like whats going on now. I guess we are just "antsy"...lol

Hermanville Victory! (although a red-faced victory)

We finished our game just now and we are victorious!
Now why (you may ask) was it a red-faced victory?
Well,..Granfali is one crafty player and he managed to grab a flag on the turn while also taking a pot shot at my infantry.
Definitely an embarrassing moment for me.
Here's what the last turn looked like:
last_turn.jpg
last_turn.jpg (194.13 KiB) Viewed 2142 times
and he is the last KIA report:
last_kia.jpg
last_kia.jpg (77.3 KiB) Viewed 2142 times
Here is the final composition of my remaining troops:
4 - Infantry
1 - M5
3 - FireFly
2 - Engineer
2 - Bren Carrier
1 - Vickers MG
3 - Piat
2 - Mortar
1 - Flamethrower
1 - Sherman

It appears that Granfali only had one infantry left. AND a very sneaky one at that!!!
Good job sir,....I searched everywhere for that infantry!

Idon't mind the deployment issue, if considered.
