Command bases ideas

Post by titanu »

Does anybody have any links to 'interesting' or 'unusual' command bases. I am looking for ideas.

I always thought that an Italian civilian model would make an EXCELLENT Mongol TC. Marco! Polo!

Okay, maybe not for a command base, but certainly for a base camp follower... ;)

Yeah, I've seen a few FOG players do that, and I just can't get my head around it. Having your ICs be these towering giants just makes it look like you ran out of 15mm figured and had to use a 28mm figure as a stop-gap measure.

I'm planning on using this pack here to make a mini-diorama IC stand for my Later Seleucids: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Xyston-ANC20255 ... 889wt_1037

You've made an statement of an opinion into a statement of fact.

I personally disagree with your opinion.

A lot of forum users use the 'this is how it is' method of terminology. I don't think they realise that it's a bit of an insult to the people who hold differing opinions.

Anyone on these forums, or any internet forums for any matter, who thinks anything said by anyone is anything other than opinion, needs to grow a thicker skin, IMHO.

I think that there are many ideas floating around that could work.

When I completely finish my 28mm Spartans* I have a General figure that is crouching pointing towards the ground. I am going to build a tactical model (sandpit thing) for him to be pointing at explaining the plan to the other figure on the base.

Something like this with the figures looking down at it

*The only reason they were almost finished after 2 years is because I was told that I couldn't be on MY team at Roll Call if I played 15mm.

I used the 28MM approach for my Mexica as the normal figures were so bright it was difficult to distinguish the generals otherwise.
