I haven't got the names yet from claymore. Your challenges can possibly give undue information.

Well my game vs Lysimachos has kicked off.

As is the norm I fail to win initiative evn though I have an IC so I am playing on a reasonably wide opne battlefield.

On my right there are steep hills running from approx rear, left of centre up my right flank 1 to 3 hexes wide. Again on my right there is a field (if anything has been planted in them, they are going to have a bad crop). Approx about 20 to 30 hexes but 2 to 6 deep and in front of that is a stream. This is all to the right of my centre.

As many troops are trying to force themselves into said field. More are coming but I think some will not make it as Guido has more lancers than you can shake a stick (lance) at with a decent screen of lf who are taking the missile fire from the Huns and giving as good as they get at the moment.

It is going to take some time but not looking good for me.

The Huns do not seem to be doing that well in this comp so thank goodness for a Civil war to at least give them one win. You watch it'll be a draw:)

My match got accepted 4 days ago or so, but I'm still waiting to play a turn :) I was hoping to get some during the weekend, as my week will be terribly busy with school and whatnot :P btw, when's the deadline for this round ?

Europe vs UK & Ireland - Round2

Huns - Europe (Tiavals) 50/50
vs
Visigoths - Britain (ianiow) 38/56

Very tough battle. The Huns suffered from a few untimely impetuous charges and the loss of 2 of their 3 generals early on. But the relentless charges of the lancers and the hail of arrows from the horse archers sorely tested the Roman and Goth HF and both sides took heavy casulties every turn.

I salute a fine opponent.

I've given up on deadlines...
I wrote I hoped round 1 should be finished around Sept 1st, 10 days after that date there's still one games unfinshed.
You have waited 4 days for a turn, I have waited 4 days for a list of names(that could have been sent to me any time during the tournament, for that matter).
No, I'll be happy if we finish the tournament this side of Christmas

Edit: one game unfinished, not two.

Forgive me my European friends!

I had ianiow on the ropes, an easy victory within my grasp. But then he did the unthinkable! He charged down the hill, for which I was unprepared for and I was summarily crushed in a well executed counter-attack!

Or that's how I like to think the match went anyway. ;)

A fine game certainly.

On retrospect, I suppose I should have kept all of my lancers and other non-missile units much farther away, and just shot you with bows for as long as I could. Regardless, thanks for the game ianiow.

Rex, do you by any chance know the armies for the other players in RoTW?

Thanks, I feel your sympathy

Tiavals, sounds like a bummer. Don't worry though, Eric have stated a couple of posts above that he's about to loose against Lysimachos...that's one in the bag :)

My round 1 game versus Klayeckles has finished. It is a victory for the Eastern Romans and for GB&I over the Western romans of NA.

Eastern Romans (Morbio) 17/50 vs Western Romans (Klayeckles) 51/49

A great and challenging game that was close until the last few turns when Klay's line collapsed like a house of cards... which is often the case in these ancient battles. Thanks for the game Klay.

Sorry for the delay finishing a combination of late starting, absence and router failure.

To be honest Eric wrote: "You watch it'll be a draw:)" and I think he's not far from the truth expecially if you remember that during the games he always says is going to lose and then regularly wins!
