irregular light cavalry

irregular light cavalry are always considered as sk for movement and combat

it means i have to test if i want to assault non sk

in my army a part of my lh are impetuous

i have to test to not assault troop i must test if i want to assault them ?

I think we may be in the area of our first clarification here. I'll check with Mike, but I think the intent is that they will only charge impetuously at a 'legal' target - which in general means one they can normally contact without spending a command point (since you don't have to, or may not be able to expend the command point).
The rule that states:
"Declaring an assault with mounted Skirmishers against the front of an enemy unit, unless all targets are skirmishers or are wavering or broken." should be the decider, so that irregular light cavalry are only impetuous against other skirmishers, or against troops that are already wavering or broken. The Ottoman army (and possibly the Serbs) is the only one with impetuous skirmishers.

I also vaguely recall Terry posting that impetuous skirmishers are not impetuous frontally except against other skirmishers, or wavering/broken troops.

Irregulat light cavalry are CAVALRY : they give suppor to cavalry units ( all cavalry units even guard cuirassier ) .
They alaways are in SK formation .

Only infantry in SK formation do not cause other unts to test pg 70

Correct (except that they have to be at least average to support guards - sorry, that 's only on page 108).
Certainly I find supporting other units is the best use for Cossacks.

With the Ottomans it better to rely on sheer numbers of mutually supporting units.
