No worries Granfali... These things happen... you make better maps than the rest of us put together, lol... Accepted the Bois and force selected... This looks a tough one! :-)

@Granfali

Was thinking about future maps, if the Allies can win some of our current battles... Will the Allies always get a deploy phase before our first move?

Will it be possible for us to deploy our forces much deeper into the map for defence games?... The current system has worked so far, because as our map designer extraordinaire, it's easy for you to setup defence forces that make sense for the Germans... and, I confess, finding your defenders always comes as a (nasty) surprise for us (especially your 88s... extreme gnashing of teeth, lol!! ;-)).

But if you're designing the defences for the Allies... they're unlikely to be where we want them, and they're not going to be a surprise for you... A "deep deploy" phase, prior to our first move, would solve that...

What do you think? What's the solution?

Interesting discovery... for me at least, hehe... is that units can deploy to anywhere that they can "see"... and this can be increased by temporarily raising SetTileLOS... viewtopic.php?f=105&t=37179#p350331

Thanks G, that's clear (and generous! :-)). are your spanish friends going to join you playing germans? it seems unfair on you to design all of the maps, and play all of the games too...

Have you got that script GL88? We can introduce it in GJS. It's a shame BA doesn't allow both sides to deploy (please Pip!!!).

While I have enough time I will try to play all battles, if in the future I can not play (family, work...) we'll seek alternatives.

@Granfali, Since 231/50 just moved to Creully... where does 69/50 withdraw to? Thaon or Porte en Bessin? Do we have a choice, or is it decided by a formula?

Gracias Herr Generale! :-)

Tadaa!! Your wish is my command, señor... :-)

Here's the code to modify deployment areas (kind courtesy of rf900's genius! :-)).
Copy the attached ZIP into the GJS\Scenarios folder... Unzip and rename each copy for the battles that we will play, eg. gjs_caen_07pm.BSF
You don't need to change any of the text inside the file, just create a new one for each battle. Easy as pi.

Allies will be able to deploy in the full 30x40 defence area for that map. At the moment, it's set to show all tiles from 16,16 (x,y) to 45,55, during the deployment phase, but you can easily modify what we can see, by changing the values in the x and y loops...

** BEWARE ** If you place any German units in that 30x40 deployment zone, we would be able to see them.

17-WITHDRAW
After the match, side with fewest flag points must withdrawn to any adjacent own area, towards area from which attacked or towards its supply source (left edge for the Germans, right edge for the British) without incurring in advantage situation because of the withdrawn movement. If withdrawal could not be done by incurring in overstack, BG will be dissolved.

Since the only own area adjacent is Creully but is ocupped by 231/50, 69/50 is forced to dissolve.

Because the battle was in Bayeux, and Morge is withdrawing from there, can't he withdraw to Porte en Bessin... instead of being dissolved?

ps. let me know if you have any problems implementing this. I've just tried it in Fast & Sneaky MP and Ortona MP and it works nicely...

Port en Bessin is a german area, so it is not an "own" area. If that happens a side can conquer areas through withdraws.

No impact.

Hola Granfali, This is probably a language thing and maybe I didn't explain my question clearly enough, but I did double check this before we decided our moves. On the basis of the unambiguous answer, I assumed 100% that we would be able to safely withdraw to Porte en Bessin if we lost in Bayeux. The only sector where we believed we were taking a "no chance of withdrawal" risk was Bois de Bavent... hence my refusal of your, at the time, generous ceasefire proposal... Unfortunately, I had no option but to fight to the last...

Since there was some confusion, could you permit Morge to withdraw to Gold this time and this time only? And there will be no doubt in anybody's mind for next time. No excuses.

Sorry about our confusion... :-(
