Lysimachos, I'm now thinking that you probably have two scenario folders named Panipat (or Civitate), one inside the other, in the Slitherine/Field of Glory Scenarios/ sequence.

The problem comes from choosing the wrong choice from the Unzip to WinZip File Folder selection.

Under Unzip you should select, for example: C\Users\yourname\Documents\Slitherine\FieldOfGlory Scenarios

Don't choose the second option, this one: C\Users\yourname\Documents\Slitherine\FieldOfGlory Scenarios\Battle of Civitate, etc.

What happens is that if you choose the second option you end up with \Battle of Civitate\Battle of Civitate\data\game files, instead of Battle of Civitate\data\etc.

The game program rejects the game file with two folders named the same and it doesn't pop up in the games menu listing.

Try deleting your Civitate and Panipat folders in Slitherine. After you do that, unzip each again, this time with the correct 'Unzip to WinZip File Folder' selection.

Go to the Slitherine folder in windows. Open the game folder. Make sure that the game files are inside a subfolder titled 'data'. If they're not, create such a subfolder and transfer the game files into it. Then open the game again and try to see if it comes up in the games menu listing. I routinely download my own games and I have no trouble opening them.

General question to others reading this: Has anyone else had any problems with Panipat and Civitate?
Problem solved!

When unzippizing the file, winrar create on the desktop a new folder with the name of the battle that contains the folder with all the battle's data.
You just have to copy in the "FieldOfGlory Scenarios" folder the second folder, leaving on the desktop the "container" folder!

The battle seems really nice .. I'm going to have a try!

Oh, you have winrar. I thought for some reason that you had WinZip. Glad that you solved the problem. Hope you enjoy the game.

Version 2.0 is now available for download at the top post.

This version reflects the mantelet protection of the Mughal cannon and matchlock musketry, using the available graphics. Version notes are included in the description.

The download link to Version 2.1 is now available in the original post.

I was doubtful about modeling the understated references in some historical accounts to the gaps left in the chain of rawhide ropes binding the bullock carts together. Several tryouts of this feature have emboldened me to include it in this update. The purpose of the gap was twofold: Babur wanted to provide his cavalry with the ability to sally forth at key moments, and to lure the initially hesitant Lodi forces to attack by presenting them with inviting gaps in the Moghul front.

Some slight changes to mantelets and unit values are reflected in the current update version in the original post. Just nuance, nuance all the way; no biggie.

While desultorily testing out the latest little changes via a hot seat game, I got into a really exciting game. This scenario has always been fun for me, but never this much of a cliffhanger.

In fact, a nail-biter to the end! The Moghuls were on the verge of losing until the last two turns, when they finally outflanked the Lodi right wing and triggered a series of tumbling-domino routs. Then they outflanked the Lodi left too, and it all was over in a trice. Earlier hits by cannon and musket fire finally caught up with many Lodi units. Some needed just a little push to topple and disrupt others. Babur was a wise man to rely on those newfangled things called field artillery and musketry.
