OK, thanks.Lysimachos wrote: Of course, no!
An Alliance is only 1 diplomatic agreement (the fact it its content incorporates those of a Peace Treaty and a Mutual Defence Agreement doesn't alter its homogeneous nature).
Consequently the player bound with an Alliance to another has two more diplomatic slot still free to use.

Next Castillian move, then, is a Diplomatic Mission to the Hafsid Kingdom with the proposal of a Peace Treaty, requesting the payment of 50 ducats to cover our diplomatic expenses.

Hafsid Kingdom 25/37 vs Zirids 40/40
Strategic victory: 15,58%.
The Zirids fought bravely but resistance is futile. Cyrenaica now belongs to it's rightful owner!

Our diplomats have managed to convince the grumbling king that secure borders in the west may be worth 50 ducats. The offer is accepted.batesmotel wrote:Next Castillian move, then, is a Diplomatic Mission to the Hafsid Kingdom with the proposal of a Peace Treaty, requesting the payment of 50 ducats to cover our diplomatic expenses.

Re: ”XV century AD – Mediterranean Campaign”
Ottoman Action ( pending Lys. confirming Im interpreting rules and the map etc correctly)
Action #1
The Milanese have refused to vacate Our island in Our Sea so we invade via Fleet
Amphib attack KR(one of our seedy ports) attacks SA ( ?? that purple Island in my way) 750 Ap's DM FOG on
**this action is on the understanding that we each both own and will engage with 3 fleets each and NO allied fleets can be drawn in by either as Im NOT declaring an allied attack(which would require the said ally to concur anyways) thus Milan cannot call in Venice fleet to support) (Also,I believe if Ducke Stockwellopetriarch forgets to launch his boats in two days we land unnopposed
Action #2
As our noble Byzantine allies have been attacked by the Venal Venetians and we are to honour our alliance:
Allied attack from Serbia into Venetian controlled Slavonia
550 Ap's dm fog on, Later Serbs(late) vs Venetian(outside europe)
**this action is also based on the rules that if an Ally finds its Ally attacked he MUST , if he has an available action , somehow strike the offender:) )
BTW Lys.m it was quite a chore trying to figure out what moves are possible as the map is not updated with newly owned provinces and I still am having trouble w all the abreviations for the provinces as well(geez half of anatolia is Karamene Kareonomene Karachi something or other etc etc)
Think of the stategic blunders I could make if I actually knew what i was doing

The Milanese fleets are launched. I request Venetian assistance if that is allowed under our mutual defence agreement.TheGrayMouser wrote:Ottoman Action ( pending Lys. confirming Im interpreting rules and the map etc correctly)

Re: ”XV century AD – Mediterranean Campaign”
Hi TGM and Pete!
A lot of questions on the table, so let’s go in order (if possible):
1) the attack from Karesi to Samos is liable because a sea rout exsist that links the 2 provinces
2) given the fact that TGM launched a mere Amphibious Attack it means he’ll have at his disposal only 3 fleets
3) the Milanese will have to defend themselves only with their fleets because the “Joint Defence Option” may be used only against a “Joint Attack” action
4) the conclusion of an Alliance implies that when a party is attacked by another opponent he may call his ally to act in compliance with the terms of the Mutual Defence Agreement (i.e. launching an attack vs the attacker with the first liable option). This is not a duty for the ally if the other parts doesn’t ask him to act so. But, if requested and not implementing the action, the treaty will be immediately cancelled with all the foreseen consequences on the prestige level of the naughty party
5) this means, on one hand, that the attack from Serbia vs Slavonia is not mandatory if the Byzantines didn’t requested it and, on the other hand, that the Milanese by their part could ask the Venetians to attack the Ottomans in compliance of the Mutual Defence Agreement merged in the Alliance
6) the map, that everybody can find in the 2nd post of the 1st page of the thread (together with a Summary Chart where all the sensible data of the campaign are reported) is updated daily and when TGM launched his action (6.9.12 h. 1.20) it had been modified in accordance with the last outcome of battles just 3 hours before (5.9.12 h. 22.09)
6) The abbreviations aren’t still prepared and this is my fault.
I’ll arrange it quickly
May someone think now that my job as something to do with quibbles and laws?

Re: ”XV century AD – Mediterranean Campaign”
The Venetians are ready to assist their Milanese ally in their fight and the Doge has sent orders to supply the fleets and the army with all the needed reinforcements but at the moment, having only the chance of launching amphibious attacks vs the mischievous Ottomans, we have to wait the outcome of the naval encounter between our esteemed ally and his wicked enemy (that will be resolved with the lottery draw of this evening).
Then we'll be able to launch our fleets against that of the Infidels gaining great victories for the Christianity!
