Have just realised the implications of the blue lines on your sector map... Nothing can cross 'em.

So the only way for (non-para) Brits to move to Merville is to head via Lebisey, then Caen... and then come back via Colombelles, then Pegasus or Ranville...

Is the same true for our supply lines? Can we supply Merville directly from Ouistreham, or via Benouville-to-Pegasus, or do we have to do supply 6th airborne via Caen?

We want to figure out how important Caen is... Because leaving the paras unsupplied is not an option...

Sorry, very bad explained in rulebook. Blue lines on map represent Caen Canal and Orne River. So are impassable. Between Benouville and Pegasus sectors there is a yellow line that represents bridges over Caen Canal and Orne River, so both areas are connected.

You can supply Ranville, Pegasus and Merville areas via Benouville.
We want to figure out how important Caen is... Because leaving the paras unsupplied is not an option...
Remember this:
6.2.The British 6th Airborne Division is considered supplied until day 7, once starts day 8, if BGs can not establish a supply route is considered "isolated".

Got it, I think...

Bottom line: So long as we hold both Benouville and Pegasus, both sides of the blue line are considered supplied...

Granfali, Am loving your Bois de Bavent map! Wished you'd showed us this before. Would have made some of our move decisions much easier, lol... What a maze! It's beautiful to look at. Will be very interesting to see how it plays...

New commanders for reinforcement battle groups

Post by GottaLove88s »

Hey Alex! (and experienced players interested in joining an awesome D-Day tournament?)

Check out Granfali's D-Day Rulebook at -> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/aej2g251hew3 ... nglish.pdf

Don't panic when you read it tho. The rules appear much more complicated than they are. Once you start playing, it's just a series of BA games, where your victories and defeats affect what happens to your team strategically...

You'll see (in section 10 of the Rulebook, yup, I know, I know, lol ;-)) that both sides will receive regular reinforcement battle groups (BGs) throughout the campaign... So we'll be looking for more commanders as this thing progresses... We're only on June 7th AM at the moment...

PM me & Granfali if you want to come on board...

GL88 (Supreme Allied Commander... Granfali is German High Command, if you prefer to play with panzers)

Hi Granfali, just thought
But I can not use trenches (fundamental in this map) or foxholes, no wire, no mines
My brother Tim1966, did some light fortifications "above ground" trenches for his WW1 mod, and there was some wire as well, might be of help.

@Granfali,

A couple of command changes for June 7th AM:
185/3 will be k9mike (not GL88)
6AL/6 will be GL88 (not jcb989)

Gracias!

Hey Granfali, just checking orientation for next maps...

Colombelles will be an M-E with Germans West and Allies East?
Bois de Bavent will be an M-E with Germans North and Allies East, right?

TURN 7 AM

Image

BATTLES

Bayeux. British attack
Hermanville. British attack
Colombelles. Meeting engagement
Bois du Bavent. Meeting engagement.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PLAY THE BATTLE?

1-Download the GJS_XX.rar file from http://www.dropbox.com/sh/aej2g251hew37fr/Ug3gvLmzE1 , where XX refers to the current day turn (Campaign in june 8 PM turn produces a file name GJS_8PM.rar). [both players]

2-Unzip it in Documents\My Games\BBCBA\MULTIPLAYER overwritting previous GJS folder version [both players]

3-Go to multiplayer server and creates a new challenge according to your battle (if your BG fight on Caen choose GJS_Caen8PM file). Choose your side (allied or axis) and don't forget to write a password. [attacker player, or germans in case of ME]

4-Email your opponent and pass him the password. (English/Spanish) [attacker player or germans in case of ME ]

Code: Select all

Subjet/Asunto: GJS for BA Campaign / Campaña GJS para BA

Hi, I have just created a new challenge in the multiplayer server, the password is "xxxxx" (without quotes)
Hola, acabo de crear un nuevo desafío en el servidor, la constraseña es "xxxxx" (sin las comillas)

Regards
Un saludo
[/size]

5-Player receives email and accepts the challenge. Battle starts. [defending player or british in case of ME ]

6-Once battle ends, player sends results to GM (Granfali) (casualities from two sides and flag points) [both players]

*to avoid to have a big list of incomplete challenges in the multiplayer server remember surrender the battle once results is clear.

**when participating in combat an isolated BG the procedure will vary. GM will have to create an additional folder due to squads.csv files do not match. In that case, GM will mail all the necessary instructions to both players.

No scouts for both sides?

Post by GottaLove88s »

@Granfali: Quick check before we kick off. There are no scouts in the force selection for Allies for Bois de Bavent. Is it intended that both sides do not have scouts here? Scouts would be a useful advantage in trees and houses...

Allied has Arty, German holding Arty for PM?

Post by GottaLove88s »

@Granfali: Double check on bonuses: The two 6th airborne BGs should have Medic + Rally + Promote. And Allied BGs in Bayeux, Hermanville, Bois de Bavent and Colombelles all have artillery support. You chose not to assign any Arty to German divisions for June 7th AM... Is that right?

No, I create them.

Sorry, I should make battles more slowly. It is hard set up battles using editor (please Pip, improve this in BA!!!). I forgot artillery bonuses... Corrected. Please, download again GJS folder.
