Pressing F2 creates a screen shot in TGA format?

Post by gortwillsaveus »

I'm just starting to use F2 to grab screen shots. This is awesome, especially since I can give a play-by-play to my allied friends as we fight Granfali in his D-Day campaign scenarios.

However,...I noticed that the resultant screen shots are created in TGA format???
Why not PNG or at least JPG.

I use Windows 7 at home and there's no default Windows app that can deal with TGA format.
Windows 7 does recognize PNG and JPG format,...could the screen shot feature be modified to create the files in one of these common formats?

Another reason for this request is that the screen captures created are typically over 2M in size,..which makes them either difficult to e-mail, or post to this forum,...due to upload size limitations.
So,.I must resize or crop,..and to resize/crop, I need an app,...which by default Windows doesn't.

You can alter the format that the screenshots are output in by adding the line

SCREENSHOTOUTPUT <value>

to the user.txt file. The value can be 0 (tga), 1 (jpg), or 2 (png).

Hope that helps!

Cheers
