For example, if 3/6 and 6AL/6 both attack Colombelles, would 192/21Pz have to fight 3/6, and then fight 6AL/6? Or is only 3/6 (highest and rightmost) allowed to make the move, and 6/AL6 is forced to stay where it is?
Only one battle per area per turn.

7.1. During the movement phase overstacking is allowed, but at the end of the movement phase, no area can host more than one same side BG. A BG, in its movement phase, can enter in a enemy occupied area (subsequently producing a fight). At the time this happens, enemy BG occupying that area is immobilized. No GB, enemy or own can access, from that moment, to that area (except relief movement). Once fought the battle, one of the two sides must leave it.

So 6AL/6 can not enter in Colombelles.

TURN 6 PM

BATTLES

Hilman Battery - British attack

PLAYERS' EMAIL ADRESSES

German side
Granfali: granfali gmail com

British side
GL88:
GortWSU: john.prause gmail com
morge4: morge4 gmail com
random27: random27 hotmail fr
k9mike: liljequist2000 yahoo com

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PLAY THE BATTLE?

1-Download the GJS_XX.rar file from http://www.dropbox.com/sh/aej2g251hew37fr/Ug3gvLmzE1 , where XX refers to the current day turn (Campaign in june 8 PM turn produces a file name GJS_8PM.rar). [both players]

2-Unzip it in Documents\My Games\BBCBA\MULTIPLAYER overwritting previous GJS folder version [both players]

3-Go to multiplayer server and creates a new challenge according to your battle (if your BG fight on Caen choose GJS_Caen8PM file). Choose your side (allied or axis) and don't forget to write a password. [attacker player, or germans in case of ME]

4-Email your opponent and pass him the password. (English/Spanish) [attacker player or germans in case of ME ]

Code: Select all

Subjet/Asunto: GJS for BA Campaign / Campaña GJS para BA

Hi, I have just created a new challenge in the multiplayer server, the password is "xxxxx" (without quotes)
Hola, acabo de crear un nuevo desafío en el servidor, la constraseña es "xxxxx" (sin las comillas)

Regards
Un saludo
[/size]

5-Player receives email and accepts the challenge. Battle starts. [defending player or british in case of ME ]

6-Once battle ends, player sends results to GM (Granfali) (casualities from two sides and flag points) [both players]

*to avoid to have a big list of incomplete challenges in the multiplayer server remember surrender the battle once results is clear.

**when participating in combat an isolated BG the procedure will vary. GM will have to create an additional folder due to squads.csv files do not match. In that case, GM will mail all the necessary instructions to both players.

Just tried to extract the pm file,...but it's coming up corrupted.
I tried to download again,..but same thing.
Can you zip the file instead of using rar format?
If not,..can you upload the file again.

@Granfali, Question on withdrawals: Theoretically, if 192/21Pz attacked Pegasus and lost, where would it withdraw to? Would it just withdraw back to Colombelles? If II/22/21Pz simultaneously moved into Colombelles, which BG stays in Colombelles? 192/21Pz withdrawing from Pegasus, or II/22/21Pz moving from Troarn? All hypothetical, of course :-)

First option for 192/21 is withdraw to Colombelles, but is occupied by II/22/21. So have to withdraw to Benouville if empty. If can not withdraw toward any area, BG is dissolved.

I just downloaded the GJS_06pm.zip file.
I tried unzipping in Ubuntu Linux and it complains that the file is corrupted.
I downloaded to a Windows machine and same thing. Winzip says it's corrupted.

I'm at work now,..so if you have a chance to upload again,...I can keep trying.
Perhaps also try e-mailing it to me.

I don't know what's going on??? I used the same compressor than first time. I try to extract files and it don't give me problems.

I installed a new compresor (7z), hope it works properly.

Uploaded again.

I got it this time Granfali,..and it's okay.
I'm not sure if it was how I tried to download it,..I had right-clicked and clicked Save to...
That only brought down a partial file.

I then tried Google Chrome,..and it brought the whole file down properly,....but this time I did click on the Download button instead.
Oh well,...no matter,....I'll install this tonight join the game,..and show what the Allies have planned. Victory!

@Granfali, Do the mini flags on the sector map have any implications on supply lines or routes of withdrawal... or no impact at all?

@Granfali, Since 6AL/6 is already in Rannville, can we check out the battle map? It looks like it's about 2/3 forest with only one major East-West road through the forest, giving off two North-South branches to Pegasus... We were just wondering how defendable it might be...

I build maps according as we need. They are inspired, more or less and with BA Editor limitations, in GJS maps http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/mo ... ds&cid=150 mixed with these other maps:

OMG Granfali... you're using these smaller CCS foundations as a base to create much more complex, brand new maps?!... And you have a day job... and a family... and two young kids... WOW!!... This is a shedload of work... and your maps are amazing!... How on earth are you coping?... Seriously... this is incredible...

Saludos Granfali, Great to see you & Gort up and going in Hillman...

Gort posted some screenshots on the Allied thread... So we had a couple of questions:

1. Is Hillman a 26-to-20 British attack? Or a Meeting Engagement? All of the central flags start as German rather than neutral? Do your units come in from the other side? Or are you already waiting in the centre too? The flags confuse us...

2. Bunker City. German Atlantic Wall coastal defences were a tribute to Hitler's paranoia and Rommel's genius. Serious interlocking bunkers, large and small, with deep communicating trenches. But once inland, it was a case of finding and tackling hidden ATGs, panzers, MG42s in wooded areas (scarily common) and villages (occasional), with scattered sandbagged fire points to defend high ground... We know this will probably come back to bite us, if and when it's our turn to defend Hillman, but perhaps there are too many bunkers? Six bunkers, of all sizes, in a 6x10 area, with nowhere to hide except the carefully mowed grass for miles around, looks more formidable than the Maginot (or Siegfried or Gustav) Line
(See photo).

@G, Hehe, on reflection, it's all very well that we (Allies) look at some maps and whine, "Hang on a minute, there weren't any bunkers inland for real on D-Day!!", but to be fair, you're doing all of the mapwork, and you're kicking ass on it... it's awesome...

So, here's a proposal: For the next set of battle maps (it looks like there will be a lot of them), could you create the base terrains, add any objects you feel must be there... then email them to me... I'll work in a second layer of objects, maybe modify things for extra realism... I'll email back to you, so you can review and finalise... Hopefully, this could result in even better maps, and it should take some pressure off you too... Once I've figured out what you're doing to create the basic map, I'll be able to create some from scratch also, so we should be able to share this task by the end... If that might be helpful?
