Gliders

I'm trying to figure out how to get units to use gliders in Russia. I went through the Eqp table and saw the 15cm Nebel had the air trait, and put it on an airport only to find it uses the regular Ju52 airport-to-airport transport. How do I get units to use gliders?

I'm not trying to fly my Kingtiger around, but as of right now Glider seems to be a disfunctional trait...practically every unit has Glider as a usable transport.

I've read Rudankorts long description of the new traits, and understand for the most part, excpet how to get units to use gliders.

Try this:
Allocate a number of glider transports in the editor. Place the Nbwf, place a glider on the Nbwf.

Good of you to be the one to respond, Nico. I just realized that I'm using your GTPG. Will we have to do this for the GC as well?

:lol: ...little trap,isnt it ?..the truth is...you dont! Since the Nbwf has air and glider the engine will assign regular transport by default until you run out of air transport and then...and only then will use the next possible transport which would be the glider...

at the scenario start however you can place gliders manually but no way to choose what a unit is going to use during scenario...

the whole air transport thingi hasnt been implemented in a very practical way...when on the airport normally a little context window should show up asking which available transport you wanna use and then it should be that Gliders can only drop their stuff within their movement range or fall down from the sky next turn (with the unit destroyed)...its sort of totally unrealistic that they can fly around unlimited without having an engine and without using fuel...I ask for what you wanna transports if you have gliders who never fall down cause they fly eternally :D

Lol. I'm on Nico's Soviet push to Ploesti. The SS Panzer Korps sent to deal with the amphibious invasion might be needed on the other end of the map, as the Wehrmacht only left one infantry division guarding Ploesti (Galati in v1.10 :mrgreen: ).

......one of them is a Kingtiger :oops:

Chris, you ever see what a Gustav can do with a ROF of 9 ? The SS Panzer Korps is no longer needed :mrgreen:
