Most Medieval European Light Foot Hangunners appear to have the option of being fielded as either Protected or Unprotected.

But Janissary handgunners do not have the same option.

Any chance they could be upgraded too?

I think the reason the European Handgunners may be upgraded is that some carried with them a large Pavis.
Not sure about the Janissary,Proberly had no protection at all!
