Examples:


Notes:

- has 19 unit gfx to replace all Soviet aircraft (TPs not counted), plus some additions for modders
- Yak 1 and 7 are made in their early cockpit config ("razorback" style), but there is a later series Yak1B included having the more modern bubble canopy...this one might also serve as Yak-7B if people want to go that far...
- incl. unique gfx for Yak-3, 9D, 9U, early IL-2 (one-seater) and the Il-2M3 two-seater
- if anybody wonders: I-15 biplane is modeled on the I-15bis version (different upper wing compared to the early I-15)

I didn't test any of these in-game yet, but they should work. If there are probs, please post, and I'll fix them

This means all vanilla warplanes should have their replacements now, unless I forgot something. Still to do are transport planes, and AK air...

I wonder if anybody ever realized that there is quite a few planes missing from the soviet roster..the I-16, The Tu-SB-2, the I-153 and the Il-DB-3...these were the main existing planes on Barbarossa in 1941 yet only the I-15 is in the game

EDIT: I just checked... ...these few extras are just those I mentioned...that makes for a complete air set for PzC East with those LL fighters you liberally provided...thnx again for outstanding work

I just received a friendly hint that the Sov Hurricane from vanilla is lacking. I totally forgot about it. But should be no biggie, I can just re-render the Brit one in Sov paint.

Actually, you don't even need to do that because the Soviets flew theirs in UK paint. All that's needed is to replace the RAF roundel with the Red Star.

Could it be that sometime you release a Fi-156 Storch in desert camo? I failed miserably while trying to make such an icon...

Well, I found a free Storch 3d model from 3dArchive, so it would be not much of a prob to make it into a unit. However, priority has the rest of replacements for vanilla and AK...after that I can do it.

The north italian social republic was a puppet state and can not be considered a country,let alone a belligerent of WWII
and there were only 3 italian air groups flying german BF-109 of which only the 23°Gruppo Caccia "Vespa Arrabiata" received 3 Bf-109K in January 1945 and 3 more in April 1945...which makes for the overwhelming number of 6 planes...they normally flew Bf-109 G6/R6 until they upgraded to supposedly G14 in Nov1944...


I dunno...do we need italian versions just cause some very few italian squadrons flew german planes in the very late phase ?...this would get way to fussy IMO

Yeah, personally I prefer Italian eqp for Italy

But since I promised to have a complete set of replacements....good find still.

The funny thing here is that I made an 109 for Italy some time ago for Uhu's/Nico's IC 2.0, but just the on-map icon, since the big pics are photos there. The unit looks like this:



But it is made on a 109G, not K. But then both are optically not sooo much different. Also the camo was just made to be in-line with the rest of Italy's custom fighters, after quickly checking some profiles most of the actual 109 Gs for Italy had a greyish look similar to the German planes (though I might have missed some Ita paint schemes).

Long story short, if people want to use this one I could add the lacking big UI icon. Alternatively I could make one similar to my custom 109 for Ger in greyish, but with Ita markers. That's no big thing since all I need is there already (3d model, textures etc), just needs to be re-arranged and rendered again
