I'm not really much of a modder, but I have figured out how to add a point here or there in the equipment editor.
I was adding a point to IT infantry SA and I said what the heck and added a point of initiative to pioneer. When I started my saved game back up my pioneers had lost the ability to take out mines (minesweeper or minekiller whicher it is). I did not see that ability in the editor to add it back in and I am lost.
What is the best way to fix this? Can I use the editor or am I doing it all wrong?

I think we have to wait for an update for the Equipment-Editor (i think it is in WIP)
Sorry, for my bad school english...
Re: Help with adding minesweeping back into a unit
Open Excel > then File > Open
> equipment.pzdat
Excel will promt you with questions about format
click Continue>Continue>Finish
The equipment table will open with each entry in a proper box
Navigate to the unit you wanna edit and type in the column add traits "minesweeper"
if you add more than one trait between each trait there has to be one space
once you are done just close the window > you get promted if you wanna save changes>yes
this the easiest way as if you change manually Excel will bother you with a lot of questions about the format..to avoid that just save by closing window
If you dont have Excel download Open Office..its great and its free and it brings a spreadshhet programn
http://www.openoffice.org/download/
and just one tip..stop messing with these files with notepad or notepadd ++ ...you can easily screw the formatting of the pzdat.files , if you havent already

If you have screwed your format then the file is trash..In case you dont have a backup let us know and somebody will re-up a new equipment.pzdat..Vaughn wrote:Thanks for the help Chris10.

PS: The editor isnt updated to 1.10 or AK so you can not edit any of the new traits. Excel or similar is a lot more comfortable as each entry has its own cell
Re: Help with adding minesweeping back into a unit
I might have to take someone up on that. It looks like I borked the backup while trying to fix the problem.chris10 wrote:In case you dont have a backup let us know and somebody will re-up a new equipment.pzdat.
It beats doing a full reinstall.
Re: Help with adding minesweeping back into a unit
Rudankort (the lead dev) posted an updated eqp file in this post, all the values are stock but one minor oversight (FlaK 88mm transport availability date) was fixed. If you really want the original eqp file I can probably attach it to a new post, but this should serve you well I guess.Vaughn wrote: I might have to take someone up on that. With the file link you should be served well...Vaughn wrote: I might have to take someone up on that. It looks like I borked the backup while trying to fix the problem.

one suggestion though ...
make yourself a new folder in C and copypaste backups of unmodified gamefolders there so you alaways can re-copy vanilla files back in for the ones you mess up in your game folder
