Issues with Panzer Corp Afrika

Post by Badaze »

Greetings
Is anyone else having issues with the two scenarios Malta and Syria? While playing the campaign and also stand alone scenarios I've experienced game crashes on both these maps.
I run Windows 7/64. The game runs fine until I get to those scenarios.

Hi Badaze.
Sorry to hear youy're having problems with Afrika Korps.
Could you please tell us if in each case you had play more than one scenario, one after another, without exiting to Windows?
And also, could you please tell your RAM size.
Thanks.

My current memory size is;
1792mb DDR3 Shared
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

Yes, I was playing the Grand Campaign and proceeding from on scenario to the next. The Malta scenario was a option choice; go to Malta or proceed to Egypt. The Syria scenario was simply next in line.
I figured I would try to play each of the these stand alone under the select scenario option to attempt to replicate the issue and they both crashed as well. Will attempt again.

Yes try again.
Please report back. There might be a problem under the right circumstances with Panzer Corps.
It's very important for us to know exactly how that did happen.
Next time you've a crash and before exiting to Windows could you please try alt-tab to windows desktop and call task manager and see how big is PanzerCorps.exe?
I suspect that some people running Windows 7 with only 2Gb might have some crashes, specially if they don't exit to Windows between scenarios.
There's a workaround for that. Please read what I've written in the first post about patch 1.10:
viewtopic.php?f=147&t=30216
But before you use that, I would like to be sure if your problem was memory related or not. So I'd need to know the exact size of PanzerCorps.exe before the crash.
Please keep reporting if you have more crashes.
Thanks a lot. :)

With "size" you probably mean the memory usage of PanzerCorps.exe, since the actual (file-)size of the EXE will remain fixed 'til the next patch ?

Yes. Thanks for correcting me huergenwald. But anyway remember that with task manager you can only check the memory usage, not the file size.
But yes, now is more explicit. Thanks. :)

Roughly about 415,400 of the memory used on system. Other necessary applications are running in background but can not shut down due their system necessity.

Good news, got everything to work after a reinstall. It appears a few files may have been (most likely) corrupted. Everything is working as it should now.
Thanks for the quick support.
