I take it no club members can play each other in the first round as usual

R&Rs for FoGN
Guys we are only even if Terry drops out!
What if we end up as 11 and Terry drops out on Friday?
After that; the last person / next who has not missed a game gets 12.5 point?
If we are going to progress FoGN we need the max people playing, which includes Terry who has already missed out once this year.

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
I'm happy to vote for notrums suggestion to get terry playing. I might get to score pts then
Seriously, it's only fair after Terry's hard work he should get to play....

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
R&R: with all these French, plenty of chance of "blue on blues", even without any US 1812 war lists

I'm also happy with the proposed addition of Terry into the competition as it'll give me a chance to watch a game!

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
I don't think its anything to do with how good the French are. At 800 points on my limited experience any of the armies are capable of beating each other.
I'm just surprised there are not more Russians...The 1813 one can have all mixed divisions which may yet prove popular but it is early days.
On the question of Terry playing. My main reason for coming was to get a steeper learning curve that competitions bring and playing Terry would have been great.
However its his call on why he has withdrawn and its a bit of a double edged sword.
If we have an odd number 6 people will lose a game.
If Terry is playing, given the newness of the game, will his opponent also lose some play in his game because of constant interruptions.
Despite that though, I would want Terry to play although I think 15 points would be better compensation for missing a game.
cheers

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
There is an odd number in the FoGR competition which originally listed 22 players including the umpire.
For some reason one of those players is now listed here. It seems a great shame that this mistake was not noticed sooner.

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
I will of course bring an army along with me.
I don't mind not playing. It has it's advantages.....
I will give me the opportunity to sit alongside players during the games and discuss parts of the rules as they are played. It will also give me the opportunity to comment on good and bad moves as the game progresses, and to point out missed opportunities (after the game turn of course).
If there is a spare table in the vicinity I can setup a test game (maybe one of the 2 scenarios in the rules) and allow players to play occasional moves over the weekend.
and of course - If someone can't make it or drops out I can fill in.

Re: BRITCON - Runners and Riders
Interesting : bring a majority mounted list I don't thinking can get a 25-0. Doesn't the pt loss per spent unit of cavalry count on this score? To break your opponent you have to enter melee which makes you spent ....
Oh well: at least I'll get to zip pretty units around the board in alastidar style

Entering melee doesn't make you spent. Taking hits does.
