Triari vs phalangists & hoplites

Post by vasikr »

Thankfully, pole-armed troops receive penalty in roughed terrain
My point is that phalangists should received higher penalty due the huge length of their pike-sarrisa 6 m long !
Hoplites spear - 2m long so they are not that punished ,am I right ?
Then ,of course, Greeko-Macedonian spear-pikemen (pole-armed) do have woods penalty since their formation receives cohesion hits.
Main point is that triari,in opposition to Greeko-Macedonians, have not fought in rigid formation - building couple of lines, when necessary, and such-so they should not receive much punishment in woods for broken formation.
