Guys,
When you're creating new units (for example, Merr's Hetzer is seriously cool) what software do you use?
Are there any programs/apps that can "read in" a current BA unit 3d model/skin and let us modify and save it?
Thanks for any advice!

Re: 3D tools for designing new units?
There are a few stickies at the top of the forum here. We use MAX, and there is an exporter script in the 3D pack you can grab from the wiki/STUB docs. There is also an exporter for Blender that works. I also recall that someone (I want to say Rich?) came up with an exporter for gMAX which he used. I'd need to find the thread.
The pack includes a number of sample units to let you see how it all hangs together. We don't have the ability to import into any packages from the s4f files - it's actually somewhat trickier than exporting because of the way we store the data.
Cheers

You're only talking about PC software, right?

I think so, yes. Although there could well be a Blender version for Mac?

Yup, was just looking around... There's a Blender for Mac and Linux... http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender... For freeware, this looks pretty darned amazing!
So you said that there's a 3d pack somewhere that we can drop some units back into Blender and experiment?

Blender Exporter: viewtopic.php?f=104&t=21328
3D unit details: http://www.slitherinebravo.net/GameWiki ... _3d_models (though some of the info is for MAX).
