How can I deploy a unit in the glider DFS230?

You cannot deploy units in gliders, just like you cannot deploy ordinary infantry in air transports in the base game. This is a special trait of paratroopers.

At the begin of the Palestine scenario three units are embarked in gliders (Nebelwerfer, Vierlingflak and PaK) and one more glider is available. So is it possible to embark a core unit (for example a 15cm Nebelwerfer 41-towed artillery) in a glider like the others already are?

You can deploy units in gliders from an airfield hex. I tested Palestine stand-alone and could get a German infantry into a glider from an airfield hex (with and without enemy adjacent). Just click the transport button and they embarked in the glider automatically. I'm not sure how the game determines to use the glider, though, because there were also 2 Ju-52s it could have used, too. It would be interesting to know what can be glider transported: tanks can't even have them assigned in the editor, which is good, and the AA flakver you mention can embark from an airfield, but what else can? Is it a trait?

Did the unit had a transport? I tried the same with a 15cm Nebelwerfer 41-towed artillery but it won't work. I think because the transport unit Opel Blitz (in another post was mentioned that it is for now not possible to discard a transport at the airfield).
With gliders it'll be possible to drop off liight artillery whereever you want. Send some paratroopers and artillery to a location in the back of the oponent and make there a lot of trouble. This will be a great expansion - if it will work in release version.

The test I did was with units without transport. The only way to get rid of transports is in cities by 'upgrading' them there and dropping the transport. Then move to the airfield...

There are two types of gliders, heavy and light. DFS 230 is a light one and can carry light equipment which means it should not have organic transports attached to it. Heavy glider can carry almost everything. If there is more than one transport type assigned in scenario game will pick first one appropriate for that unit in accordance to how they are lined in the editor.
For example you want to load paratrooper. If heavy glider is first on the list it will load it in it but if Ju52 is first on the list it will load it in Ju52. Also Ju52 can now carry some light equipment too but only in form of airlift. So you can disembark some light anti-tank for example on an airfield hex.

That's what I thought - I saw the glider was ahead of the Ju-52 in the Palestine scenario parameters list. Worked well!

Just a proposal: in Caucasus heavy, medium and light airtransport is available. If I want to airlift a Tiger only the heavy transport can carry them. If I deploy paratroopers in this scenario automatically medium airtransport is used for them although I wanted them in light airtransport. The medium transport should be reserved for other units which have to be deployed on an airfield in the first turn and will be mounted in the second turn. So I suggest to change the sort order:
First light than medium and at least heavy transport, so an airlift uses the proper airtransport.

This has confused me, too. Also a related question, I am curious, what does it mean when the air transport stats are repeated twice? This is from the Malta scenario; I posted it there, too.

It should be fixed in RC2. At least it is on my side.

And what do you think about changing the sort order of airtransport to use the smallest available airtransport instead of the biggest?

Well what is the smallest and what is the biggest here? We have glider categorized as light and heavy and it is always better to list light before heavy because heavy can carry everything light one can and even more. But ordinary air transport works differently. It will disembark only paratroopers anywhere on the map and those who can use airlift only on the airfield. So lets say you want to mount Gebirgsjäger to be disembarked somewhere on the mountains. If Ju52 is listed first it will load a unit but it can disembark it only on an airfield. On the other hand if light glider is listed first it will carry Gebirgsjäger or paratrooper if you want to use them instead.

That's true - for combat phase. But in deployment phase only paratroopers can be assigned in airtransport. In this case the gliders (cause they are first in line) are used. Gebirgsjäger can be deployed on an airfiled but not in an airtransport. So the paratroopers use the "bigger" tranpsort and the Gebirgsjäger (or light artillery or AA or ...) can in the first turn only be mounted in the "smaller" air transport and can only be lifted to another airfield.
Perhaps a mix could solve this issue: let Fallschirmjäger always first mount in JU52 if available?
Or another proposal: in PG the Embark/Disembark button was used in deployment phase to assign how units will be deployed: as ground unit or in airtransport.
Maybe this can be a change for the next version (> 1.10)?

Maybe... :) I'll give it some more thought.
