Campaign saves...?
Is there any way to coordinate campaign progress and saved games across an iPad and a Mac? Maybe thru iCloud or Dropbox?

Re: Campaign saves...?
It's not something we have done as yet. It would definitely be cool, and is something like the backend we already have for MP games, but it would probably need a lot of work to deal with edge cases to make it bulletproof (e.g. people who save when offline then start up again on another machine, then start up again online on iPad and we have to work out which game you want! etc). It would be a big job for sure.

Re: Campaign saves...?
Just let Dropbox handle it. Sync before starting. Warn me if cant sync that I may not have the latest version and ask if I want to continue... Last played/saved becomes the version to sync to...

Re: Campaign saves...?
The issue tends to be for these kinds of things that the more techy are fine, they understand the logical issues with syncing and so on, and can handle it. But lots of people don't understand it and expect it to magically just work - and I can forsee a support nightmare of lost games, confusion and "why do I have to pay for Dropbox to save my games!"
I will definitely add it to our wishlist - as you say, it could definitely make it more appealing for a segment of the playerbase. But it's a pretty long list for a pretty small team

I can see big issues with people forgetting to save & exit and just leaving their iPad in hibernation. The last autosave gets sent to another machine. They play that turn on a PC/Mac. They return to the iPad which still has the old save loaded and continue to play and lose progress. I just think its a recipe for disaster and a huge task!

Ok, ok, i surrender guys!
Is there a hack that those of us who wanted to, could code in, at our own risk, to get a mac and a ipad to save/load from a dropbox folder instead of the usual local savegames folder? Perhaps making this mainstream isn't wise after all.

Re: Campaign saves...?
If it was a manual way to force a save to the server and then recover it it might be ok. As long as its all done manually - any automated system is likely to cause more trouble than its worth!

Re: Campaign saves...?
that's it exactly. just using the usual manual save/load function that comes within the game (accessed from the spanner in the top left of the active game screen). how do i persuade that to save to/load from a dropbox account instead of the local savegame folder? then i can pick up and play on any mac, pc or ipad that has BA installed... i agree, automated save/load would be a headache for all concerned...
