Terrain placement "slide"

Post by hazelbark »

This would not matter in the game, but I was surprised it could be perceived differently.

Hill
stream

Hill is rolled a "5" by his opponent so they can slide it up to 12 MU.

I always assumed a slide meant it couldn't hop or pass over terrain.

But in this case since after going like 6 MU the Hill was entirely across the stream, players thought it could pass over.

What say you on "slide" if it can get to the far side of a terrain piece is that ok?

I don't see a problem with it. It's just a device for finding the final location of a terrain piece, and as long as it can legally be placed in that spot, why not?

I'm with Blathergut on this one. Can't see it says no and no reason why not! (until Terry tells us otherwise!)

I believe it states that terrain can't end up on another piece of terrain. If the hill can completely pass over a stream then it should be able to do so.

Either your commander had his map upside down and mistook where that hill was before he got there, or his scouts are not very good at accurate descriptions. Better get more professional figures for your armies

Terrain can slide over other terrain - it's the final position that counts. I've quite often moved terrain across rivers and streams.
