When you buy AK what happens to the equipment file, graphic, file and audio files?

Do they get erased and then upgrade with the new units and statistics?

It is the same as with ordinary patches - new files are added, existing files are updated with new version. Which means that for example equipment file will get upgraded, certain graphics files (like tiles) will be replaced etc. But a lot of new graphics and audio come in new files which will just get copied side-by-side with old ones. Thus, all new unit icons will be just added to the respective folders.
