1) I opened my saved Arabia game (saved in Beta2) to check something about upgrade paths. I'm opening in in Beta 3 and I notice the music is regular PC and not the really groovy AK music I enjoyed a lot in beta2. What gives? I had opened the regular PC game in between to futz around. Change, bug, or ? (Totally off-topic. the prior Nord Afrika themed music always reminded me of CSN+Y's "marrakesh express" song. Very cool.
2) I have a suggestion about the UI panel. When you have the UI panel open and the reserve list open, the right-click function is not assigned. I suggest it would be helpful to assign it the normal fxn as when mousing on a unit - opening the unit characteristics and battle history panel. The reason I would find this very useful is that in the deployment phase, you have no other way to access this info so you can check hero's and history. I use both when re-naming units and it's a little annoying (not much) to not be able to access that info during deployment, but instead to have to wait to combat to check.
3), while I'm on it, it would also be a minor tweak that if you mouse over the lower right tactical map on the UI panel you could right click and it would go to the screen (again, r-click is unassigned in the ui panel if you are moused over the tac map). It would save a bit of scrolling and such. Minor thing.
I don't know if this is a big deal to add this functionality, and it may be too late in the dev cycle, but this has annoyed me since CG '39 months ago and I've meant to suggest it somewhere.
Music change to Beta 3? And UI panel suggestion.

2) Alt-click the unit icon in deployment mode to see details.
Re: Music change to Beta 3? And UI panel suggestion.
Yep, that works! Thank you.
But I had not seen that in the manual (I read it). Why not just assign right-click (otherwise unassigned) and be consistent with how it works in the scenario? Perhaps there is a programming reason for it I do not understand, but that would be so very much more logical.
But now why is the beta 3 music reverted to PC music?

I'm totally confused about that music change. Beta 3 still uses the same Africa tracks, and it does not include stock PzC misuc at all. How it could play for you is a mystery for me. Did you have another instance of PzC running in background or something? What happens when you start a new game in beta 3 - what music do you get? Does the issue repeat itself if you load that saved game?
Re: Music change to Beta 3? And UI panel suggestion.
I reloaded a few older AK scenarios as a test and they all played the PC music, not the AK. I will do another test now. I have PC open/running. I will close it, load the AK beta 3 and some AK scenarios and see if it repeats. I will update in a few minutes.
Edit: Still getting PC music, not AK.
I "quit to desktop" PC (was playing GC '40). Opened AK beta and then opened saved East Afrika file. I get PC music, not AK.
I will try restarting windows, etc., play around, see what makes a difference. But yeah, this is weird.
I sm running this on an older IBM/Lenovo laptop, XP fully updated. I do have VPaulus's real sounds mod installed, but I don't think that should affect AK or this? I get real sounds (his mod) in PC but not AK.

I am not able to re-create it.
I was hearing very surely PC music. It was after playing PC a while, then closing it and loading AK. After re-starting, the conflict went away. Sorry I can not recreate it.

The sound mod are only sound effects not music.Kamerer wrote:I reloaded a few older AK scenarios as a test and they all played the PC music, not the AK. I will do another test now. Unless you've copy the whole audio folder of Panzer Corps to Afrika Korps. In that case you replaced AK music with PzC.
Mind that the sound mod is not patched, yet, for AK. So if you're playing with it, you won't listen the new units sounds.
