Re: Unable to open
Hi, I've got the same problem: Acer laptop, OS Vista Home premium, CEaW won't start (no matter what version or path I use, JRE 6 update 3 installed). I have the game installed also on my desktop PC (also Vista Home premium, works fine there). What can I (we) do?charlieuniform3 wrote:Bought and downloaded yesterday, had trouble opening but eventually got there. Oh yes, and by the way: the map editor (beta 1.04) doesn't work properly either! It launches but the screen doesn't fit into the monitor so I cannot access the lower part of the screen which means I cannot acces the menu features!

Re: Unable to open
OK, problem partially solved: I was able to launch CEaW V1.02 by executing it as administrator. V1.04 doesn't work with this option, V1.03 I haven't tried yet. No chance to launch the program (in whatever version) via the shortcut, you have to go into the CEaW folder and run the commander.exe file as administrator. And concerning the map editor: same as before.Samichlaus wrote:Hi, I've got the same problem: Acer laptop, OS Vista Home premium, CEaW won't start (no matter what version or path I use, JRE 6 update 3 installed). Hi Iain!iainmcneil wrote:Can you tell us which version of the game you are running (which publisher did you buy from) and in what language?
It's the matrix version. Version 1.00 and 1.02 are running, not so version 1.04beta (didn't try 1.03beta yet). I am u, sing an acer laptop (intel dualcore, 2Gb RAM, 1.66Mhz, OS = Vista Home premium, graphics = mobile intel 945 express chipset). I tried the english language version. What bothers me also, is that the map editor (1.04) is of no use because i cannot see the whole screen e.g. the lower part of the screen is inaccessible.

Game opens then kicks me back to wind within a second
Hi. I just downloaded the game tonight, and then the v1.04 patch.
It set up an icon, and the result was the same whether I clicked on that or went through the C drive to the program. In each case it asks for a language, then a low or high version. I've tried both and in all cases the screen briefly goes to the Slitherine and I hear intro music, then within a second it kicks me back to windows screen.
I'm semi PC literate so any help, please spell out step by step
I have an Acer and am running Windows Basic Vista.
Thanks,
Colin

Ignore my message above - I saw the answer on the sticky FAQ thread. Working great running as administrator.
