Re: Dragoons
Sorry typo - i meant in melee they use one dice per base versus heavy troops unlike say LF.
Re: Dragoons
Yep.
They behave like Battle troops in Impact and Melee, except second rank bases don't get any dice.

Re: Dragoons
I don't think that is right. Per the definitions, Dragoons are foot troops (p. 22) AND light troops (p24). I am pretty certain they get halved dice in impact and combat.

Re: Dragoons
Dragoons are Light troops (along with Light Foot and Light Horse), which is a Troop Function category on p24 of the rules. However both Dragoons and Light Foot are separate Troop Types as defined on p.22.
The reduction of dice for impact and melee is for Light Foot and Light Horse. If the intention was to include Dragoons then the instruction would say Light Troops. Therefore at Impact and melee, the Dragoons count as Other Troops and get 2 dice per front rank bases at impact and 1 dice per base in the first 2 ranks in melee.
Hope this helps.

[quote1 dice per 2 front rank bases at impact[/quote]
Almost correct!
I'm sure Don meant to say "2 dice per front rank base".
