Hello All!
If we had a chance to make improvements in the Panzer Corps manual, what would you suggest to do? What missing information to add? What existing information to clarify/extend or remove? Please share your suggestions in this topic. Thanks!

Re: Improvements in the Manual
Some of the little things we've patched in over time would be great. Off the top of my head...
Reduced supply in bad weather is nullified when unit is in a player controlled city hex.
Units with values of [1] do not use ammunition when firing with [1].
Units with values in [] cannot perform ambush actions (AD units can't ambush tanks).
Some scenarios can have experience caps, explain why units stop getting experience sometimes.
Pioneers and Paratroopers and any other units with fort killer hidden trait might be worth a mention.

Re: Improvements in the Manual
It'd be nice to include explanations of all the game mechanics, in an appendix perhaps, for those players who want a detailed understanding of how combat works. Here are a few things I can think of
1)How retreat/surrender mechanics work. This is especially valuable in MP, for instance, knowing that a tank in a forest has entrenchment of two, so if you have two infantry it's best not to strafe/bombard the tank until at least one of the infantry has attacked to keep the tank in close terrain.
2)Rules like the +3 INI bonus to AT units when attacked by a unit with a turret (tanks/recon), +2 GD for infantry attacking AT, +3 GD for all units against artillery in the rain/snow
3)Entrenched units attacked by infantry benefit from only 1/2 the GD bonus of entrenchment.
4)How experience works on INI, namely, that all other modifiers are applied first before this is calculated. For instance, a 1 star fighter with INI = 10 has effective INI = 11, but if surrounded two fighters, the INI goes down to 9, because the mass attack lowers the fighter's INI to 9 and it no longer benefits from the 1 star.
5)Mention that rugged defense chance is affected by entrenchment, experience differential between the units, and the type of units (infantry seem to have 1/2 the chance of triggering rugged defense when attacking, not sure about all the other possibilities though).

Re: Improvements in the Manual
4. На странице 12 безапеляционно заявляется "Every unit has one move and one attack per turn".
После "The unit name, type and below that: strength, fuel, ammunition and entrenchment level.", неплохо бы упомянуть о подавленности, и что, когда и где там отображается.

Reduced supply in bad weather is nullified when unit is in a player controlled city hex. -
Units with values of [1] do not use ammunition when firing with [1].
Some scenarios can have experience caps, explain why units stop getting experience sometimes. -
Pioneers and Paratroopers and any other units with fort killer hidden trait might be worth a mention. UNIT CLASSES INFANTRY.

For those who do not understand Russian.
Little edits of the old manual.
1. In the system requirements necessary to specify the audio codecs needed to play. Maybe add them to the installer.
2. In 2.1. MAIN MENU to add a brief description of the choice of localization.
3. In CAMPAIGN SELECTION add a choice mods and DLC.
4. On page 12 of dogmatical states "Every unit has one move and one attack per turn". But what about RECON? And then a good idea to describe and show the "small icons".
5. On page 14. After "The unit name, type and below that: strength, fuel, ammunition and entrenchment level", would be nice to mention the suppression, and what, when and where it is displayed.
6. In describing the game menu does not forget about the window mode.
7. In section 4.1. UNIT CLASSES, I would describe what the SE units, and what they are classes.
8. In section 4.2. UNIT STATISTICS would be nice to put a screen window purchase to show all the parameters of a unit described there. If you have made a display of bonuses from heroes, not only in BATTLE HISTORY, and it would be nice to describe it.
9. There's also a good idea to at least a brief description of all abilities are used.
10. On page 27 correct bonus SS, on the politically correct.

Reduced supply in bad weather is nullified when unit is in a player controlled city hex. - I agree.
Units with values of [1] do not use ammunition when firing with [1]. - except artillery.
In section GAMEPLAY TIPS AND TACTICS general need to add sections on Replacements units and supplies. They describe the limitations on the under a massive attack or an attack by air and their price.
Some scenarios can have experience caps, explain why units stop getting experience sometimes. - And that's interesting.
Pioneers and Paratroopers and any other units with fort killer hidden trait might be worth a mention. - I would put it in 4.1. UNIT CLASSES INFANTRY. They also pointed out the loss of transport paratroopers after loading the aircraft and crossing with bridge engineers.

1) - I agree, especially with the first sentence. In learning about this campaign, but said briefly.
About the initiative, I would not add to the line. 4) a direct consequence of a massive attack, and the specific numbers in 2), still no one remembers. But the circle of the standard type - stone, paper, scissors - to describe it would be nice.

Re: Improvements in the Manual
It might be nice to include some details about what the difficulty levels and handicap settings actually change. I have read on the forum and might have even asked myself what the handicap does in the past but new players won't know. I'm not sure if the bonus levels are mentioned either.

Re: Improvements in the Manual
Would these changes apply strictly to the original manual (and the four original campaigns), or will it be expanded to include information on the DLC campaigns?
Re: Improvements in the Manual
We could consider adding DLCs too, but what information exactly would be useful about them in the manual?dshaw62197 wrote:Would these changes apply strictly to the original manual (and the four original campaigns), or will it be expanded to include information on the DLC campaigns?
