French 1809: Corse & of the Po: Own Div??
The list states that allied inf must be in own div under own command. How do I make a division with only 1 unit of the tirailleurs corse and of the po? Or can this unit be in a French division? Or is all allied inf lumped together in one division?

I think allied troops all have to be lumped together in a single allied division. In the case of the French they have several allies they can have, so most likely you can mix them in a single division since some of the smaller confederation states were very small contingents.

I ask because from what I've read of the units, it seemed they would more likely be considered a French unit in a French division.

Should have picked a less confusing army I guess
Looks like we can do another game in 2 weeks unless anything changes. Wanting to try a new army design see how it works.

Re: French 1809: Corse & of the Po: Own Div??
At Wagram there were two battalions in the French II Corps and both of them were in divisions otherwise made up entirely of French infantry (all 4th battlions of regiments, so probably not high quality). Corsica was, and still is, part of France and although the Po is in Italy, in 1809 the area around Turin, which would include the Western end of the Po, was annexed to France (and not part of the Kingdom of Italy). So I'd say they are French for the purpose of the list.

That's what I kinda thought, too. Thanks for the help! (Gonna have to send you some Canadian moose burgers or something!)

This the correct interpration for what I term allied contingents and/or " regiments etrange" - Swiss, Legion of the Vistula, Portuguese Legion etc especially where there is no army list for that nationality.Blathergut wrote:I ask because from what I've read of the units, it seemed they would more likely be considered a French unit in a French division.
