Prussian list 1812

Post by Scrumpy »

The list says you need 2 Allied Divisional commanders, yet the army notes say the allies must be in a single division, which is correct ?

You can run the list two ways: As a purely Prussian Corps-All Divisions are Prussian, Initiative is 1 OR as MacDonald's 10th Corps-2 Divisions from the Allied list and 2 Divisions of Prussians but with an initiative of 2.

According to ToN
p62, Allies may only be used in a separate infantry division.
P64. Allies must have 2 divisonal commanders...

Which is correct?

According to Wikipedia, there were only 2 divisions in X corps, 7th (Poles & Germans) with 4 squadrons of the Prussian Lieb Hussar attached. The 27th (Prussian) division had 6 squadrons of Dragoons & 8 of Hussars as a cavalry brigade.

It says "a separate division". This doesn't necessarily mean one division. I take it that your Prussian and Allied infantry units can't be in the same division. As the list has a minimum of 2 Allied DCs you will have a Polish division, a Polish/Westphalian/Bavarian division and 2 Prussian divisions all under a French CC.

One heck of a Prussian divison that has to have at least 2 cavalry units and a horse artillery in it as well as Infantry lol.

You have to take 2 Prussian Divisions, with a minimum of 8 units between them - so not too over the top.

P62... Only one mixed division allowed...

So presumably you have to have 4 or 5 Infantry to 2 Cavalry, 1 medium art & 1 horse art ?

Correct. It just means that you can't mix the allied units in with Prussian ones.... owever, if you use allies you must use 2 divisions of them, plus 2 divisions of Prussians.

You certainly have to have those as a minimum - spread over 2 divisions.
You could have them as 1 infantry division and 1 cavalry division, 1 mixed and 1 cavalry, or 1 infantry and 1 mixed.
