air unit replacements

Hi,
I have searced the manual but have not been able to locate an answer to my question.
Maybe you can help. I see and have been able to purchase replacements(regular and elite) on all
land units. I have not been able to locate info on how to get replacements for, for example, the ME109F.
The replacement key will not function like it does for land units. What do I need to do to bring the ME109F from
a 3 for example back up to a 10?

You need to bring your planes to an airfield you own to be able to repair them. Unlike fueling tho it does only work on the airfield hex field itself and not on the adjacent ones.

what does the airfield hex look like since I have not seen any airfield hexes only city hexes?
