Yah, your probably right Vito...Was trying to make out what the print says, but it is too small and I cant blow it up without distorting it. Man...That is a nice hole...hehehe
that front armor is like 100mm....Damn. But, if it was a Panzerfaust...they could go through like 8" of armor. That might even be able to go through a Jadgtiger front plate.

Yes, I was thinking 17 pdr too. Or from a Firefly.
Re: We need this!!! :)
I think that the perforation was made by an HEAT shell for the burns visible around the hole.

Some years ago,...I visited the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.
They had a huge area where they had tanks and other AFVs.
Got to stand next to a Elephant, Tiger, JadgPanther, Hetzer,........it was amazing!
From what I've heard,..I believe they've moved these tanks to another military base further south in the US.
The next place I'd lobe to visit is the General George S. Patton Tank Museum in Fort Knox, Tennessee.
They've just finished the new tank museum and they also has a tank simulation battle arena.
I have GOT to get there!

Sweet, would love to have been able to see those. Not sure if you have seen this (but prob have), but there used to be a show on called Tank Overhaul? Neat show...One guy, totally rebuilt a later war Panther from hulk that was pulled out of a river in Poland. They refabbed practically the whole turret and nailed it...man, those guys are good. beautiful tank.

Wow. This is some impressive stuff fellas. Wealth of information here. Thanks for sharing. I have never seen anything like this in person. Let alone a tank simulation. I will check these places out sometime when I get a chance. Definitely on my to do list now.

What does the picture text say - is it the Eastern or Western front? The IS-2 had a 122 mm gun. The Soviets also had similar towed and self-propelled artillery The US self-propelled howitzer had a 105 mm gun. I suppose they had armor-piercing ammo.k9mike wrote:We need what ever punched this hole in this Tigers front Armor Plating...lol.

It is a sample page out of a book that RZM is selling. I could not enlarge the photo enough to see what it says...gets to distorted. I'm thinking a large HEAT round, or a Panzerfaust like Jmass said. Because of the burn marks at the entrance. Really nice hole in that front plate...We definetely need more of that in the game...lol
