Finally got the army list book, mistakes aside I really like how the lists are laid out by years and campaigns. Great idea on that one. So far have only glanced at some lists but like what I see so far, 1809 Austrians soon to take to the field of glory

Mine showed up today. There are a metric ton of lists in the book, so hopefully local tourneys aren't as confusing as I predict they will be ("no no... this is a 1809 infantry corp... not an 1812")
Overall though I like it, though I do miss the "starter armies" presented in the other FoG systems as they were great for helping players new to historical get into the game with a typical force, and anything that lowers the barrier of entry fro the hobby is always greatly appreciated.

We sympathise with that viewpoint.
We did start to make started armies for each list, but with so many list in the book it became a problem both with the time taken to produce, and with the space taken up by them. It would have added another 30 pages to the book and probably delayed publication by at least a month maybe 2.
In the end we decided that getting the lists out reasonably close to the rules was more important.

You seem to have managed the balancing act of producing historic lists that also allow a player reasonable choice in selecting forces. Well done indeed! One of the best set of army lists for the period I've seen. I'm looking forward to volume II.

I agree completely wargamers are quick to complain so I have to say this is a great set of lists.
