Some miscellaneous questions

Post by Robbrr »

Hi Guys,

I have a few questions that came up in our game tonight:

When Infantry are in the open and need a cohesion test if assualted by Cavalry, on page 30 it states that it ends up in the formation chosen even if the test is failed. Is it correct then, that if it were steady and failed the test, it would fight as a disordered square and apply they (-) POA against the cavalry, being that it is fighting a square?

We had an odd circumstance in which neither side had to retire, a Disordered Square did not take any further damage from Cavalry and the Cavalry was left unharmed. Given that Disordered squares do not retire, we left the two units in contact, for combat in the following turn, is this correct?

Finally, can a unit that is still in combat contact with the enemy in the Recovery phase, as rare as that is, recover cohesion while in contact with the enemy?

Thanks in advance,

Rob

Yes. assuming small units, the disorderd square would get 4 dice for being 'others', less 1 for being disordered. Hit on 4+
The cavalry would get 4 dice (others) hitting on 5+ (-PoA for fighting square)

Sounds like the cavalry should have passed through the square - placed on the far side and then does a pursuit move.
Finally, can a unit that is still in combat contact with the enemy in the Recovery phase, as rare as that is, recover cohesion while in contact with the enemy?
There's no exception in the rules about being in contact, so yes they can recover cohesion.
