1. The Austrians manage to negate/reduce the French medium-ranged fire with carefully placed cavalry. Unfortunately, the French still pay the reformed price.

2. The cheapiness of the Austrians means larger units facing the French and even less hits with the -1 for large units.
3. The Austrians, with artillery attachments, are actually out-shooting the French line infantry for a mere 2 points:
...French line infantry (small average/drilled) = 40 points
...Austrian line infantry (small average/drilled) = 32 points + 10 points artillery attachment
If I try to go better quality with even one or two light infantry units or artillery, I shrink even more.


Anyone else finding the Austrians tougher than first appearance?
