Regretably we seem to be getting an ever increasing number of "Spam" posts across all the FOG forums - as of this morning I counted 40 new topics or spam posts to existing topics across the 3 main forum.
It is of course very frustrating and annoying.
A question to the "techy boys" - can anything be done to stop this?!

Since I posted this, there have been 10 more Spam posts within 10 minutes!!
I don't want chinese goods, vivienne Westwood or Louis Vuiton handbags!!.
If we can't stop this, will we need to close the forum down!

Hi guys
this is not spam bots - its a sustained attack by some idiot who gets paid for providing links from other peoples sites to raise their search rankings. We're investigating how we can stop them permenently. All posts have been removed but its a pain and wastes a lot of time.

She knows only too well how to order them (and they're not cheap!). At least it stops her complaining when I buy a new army. If she ever says "what do you need another army for?" my answer is always "for the same reason you need another handbag!"!
