If I buy the Mac version is there a way to get the PC one

Title says it all.
I have a Mac laptop which is my primary computer but I also have an old PC tower that can handle the game and I'd like to be able to play on both without buying the game twice.

Unfortunately not for this game. Normally yes but for this game the 2 versions are developed by different companies and have different protection system and revenue shares so there is no way to jump from one to the other. This was before we were in to Mac games really.

In that case, which version is the most stable? Are they about the same?
Are they both updated at around the same time?

I feel both are equally stable and are updated at essentially the same time. You could purchase the windows version and play it on the Mac as well. I've done that and it worked fine.

Same for me. When I bought the game I still used a windows PC. Later I bought a Mac and now I play the windows version of game with the help of bootcamp. Works fine for me.

Same here. Worked under Bootcamp flawlessly.

I do remember somebody from Slitherine telling me when I was deciding to buy the PC or Mac version, that the Mac version didn't have as many users, for what that's worth.

True, but the beta group (Paul) has been super at keeping the Mac users up to date with the latest version.

When we created the expansion the first goal was to be cross-platform compatible with the PC version.
So the number of players mean nothing. You can play the game on the platform of your choice.
