At what range(hexes) can they shoot as "Sniper", and why arent they capable of shooting "Sniper" as soon as they see the enemy? They ARE Snipers....

Units that receive enough promotions will get the ability to have a sniper shot. There will be an icon below your regular shot icon. The range is the same as any other shot IIRC. It gives you a guaranteed kill of one enemy troop.

I know about that, but I am refering to a single unit that is titled..."Sniper". there is one such unit in the Crete Campaign. Not sure if this is a made up unit for this scenario, or if there is one in the game. This unit has to be at a certain range or something to shoot the "Sniper" icon. But, it can shoot from further regular style...not sure.

The designer must have made that unit for the campaign. Best to ask in his thread in the scenarios forum.

The sniper unit in Crete is an elite infantry unit with a single man and the "sniper elite bonus". I gave it the same scout range as regular scout units, 50% extended range with respect to regular infantry, an improved ambush skill and a very poor assault skill.

In game, you can alway press "1" to highlight the squares that are within fire range of a unit.

Yah, but I was just wondering about why it cant take a "Sniper" shot....(Since its a Sniper ;) ) when it can see the enemy...it can engage them with normal fire, but if want to use sniper abilities He has to be even closer...I figured since he was a Sniper....that it would be the other way around. After all...they do use a Scope...;)

Of course, the sniper in the scenario can take a sniper shot (I just did - see the picture below).

The same conditions as for other units with the elite sniper bonus apply: it can take a sniper shot on the firs shot and only if it has not moved yet in the turn.

Now, if you put the sniper unit from Crete and want to use it in your scenario, you must give it at least one rank of experience.
