On pg 94, right hand column, last paragraph and associated bullet points say there are restriction on attacker and defender movements 'during the first 2 moves of the game'.
Does this mean that the attacker's restrictions apply only in the attacker's 1st move and the defender's restrictions apply only in the defender's fist move, and that all moves after the defender's 1st move are free of these restrictions?
ie Attacker's 1st move: restricted
Defender's 1st move: restricted
Attackers 2nd move: not restricted
all further moves: not restricted.
OR
Does this mean that the attacker's restrictions apply only in the attacker's 1st move and 2nd move and the defender's restrictions apply in the defender's 1st and 2nd moves and that all moves after the defender's 2nd move are free of these restrictions?

Re: Question: Movement Restrictions at the Beginning of a Ga
The restrictions only apply to each player as they are the phasing player, so the attacker can not make a voluntary move to his rear during his first and second turn, when he is the moving/phasing player.
The defender can not move forward out of his deployment area except for the couple of exceptions during his first and second movement phases when it is the defenders turn.
So
attacker move turn 1 its restricted.
Defender move turn 1 they are restricted.
Attacker move turn 2 they are restricted.
Defender move turn 2 they are restricted.
Attacker moves turn 3 no more restrictions.
Defender turn 3 no more restrictions.

Re: Question: Movement Restrictions at the Beginning of a Ga
deadtorius if correct - first 2 moves for EACH player.
There have been some competitions where the restricted moves have been reduced to 1.
We'll be using 2 at Roll Call - and see how that goes.
We will be offering 25mm as well as 15mm at Britcon and we have vairious options to choose from depending on what table sizes we are allowed.
Standard size for 25mm is 8x5 ft, but we may be restrcited to 8x4 or 6x4. If the table width is restricted to 4ft deep we'll consider making it 1 move, if the table is restricted to 6 ft wide we'll consider reducing the points to say 650.

we have been playing on 4X8 table with 28mm, perhaps next game we should try 1 turn restriction and see how that works.

Ya, I was going to suggest it. Means the attacker will have to deal with things too. Right now, attacker just manouevers over and pounds away.deadtorius wrote:we have been playing on 4X8 table with 28mm, perhaps next game we should try 1 turn restriction and see how that works.

'Standard' tabe size for a 25mm 800pt game is 8x5.we have been playing on 4X8 table with 28mm, perhaps next game we should try 1 turn restriction and see how that works.
Reducing the width to 4ft means that you can't deploy as far beck from the deployment line. This severely restricits you ability to react to what you opponent is doing.
Changeing the movement restriction to just 1 move compensates for that.....So it would be a perfectly reasonable change on a reduced depth table.

Re: Question: Movement Restrictions at the Beginning of a Ga
4X8 is the size of the table, we have so that is the size we have to play on. Mind you this is also the first FOG set we use 40mm MU's for and we exclusively play 25-28mm. Might be altogether different if we were still using the smaller MU's.
