Three questions - routers and obstacles

Post by richafricanus »

1. To cross an obstacle a unit must move up to it with one move and cross it with the next. What if the unit is performing a compulsory retire move whose distance takes it across the obstacle? Does the retire move stop at the obstacle?

2. Do pursuers follow routers who deviate around the routers friends or must the pursuers carry on straight into the newly exposed unit?

3. Do routers rout through a town occupied by friends (thereby causing them to test for being burst through) when they can't legally avoid the town by shifting a base? If so does this not contradict the rule that only 1 unit can be in a town at a time?

On Qs 1 and 3 see p.62.

"A retiring unit will halt immediately after crossing an obstacle, or entering an unoccupied building. If the unit is forced to retire into a friendly occupied building, it will treat the entire building as a single friendly unit (see Bursting Through Friends)."

If the pursuer's target gets out of range they can wheel to hit other assaultable enemy as detailed on p31. If no such targets are available, they continue straight on. Contact with other enemy leads to combat.

The retiring unit moves the full distance - If it can't slide past an obstruction it will go through it.
It the unit ends in an unoccupied building it will 'occupy' it. It will cross an obstacle and continue until it completes its move. If it ends partially across an obstacle it will cross it entirely.

I think the other 2 questions have been answered.
