There must be - in fact, there are - lots more people with beta test copies of the rules than those making posts at the moment.
Has anyone polled or contacted them to see why they arent playing, or arent providing feedback ?

I have re-readthe rules a number of times and moved some troops around.
Been following the posts here but have yet to play.
I suspect I am the only playtester in Devon/Cornwall and am champing at the bit to have a go.
I am trying to encourage a few club members here to enter at Warfare. Then I`ll havean opponent or two!

I'll try to illustrate what is happening in our club called LES NERVIENS in northern FRANCE.
About 10 members signed the NDA and read the rules.
The mechanism beeing quite easy to understand, most of them quickly wanted a go and enjoyed the rules. Some people without NDA (because they don't read english) didn't get a copy but are still looking forward to the french version of the rules.
Last friday evening, there were three games of FOG with about 12 players playing or attending.
What I want to mean here is that if only a few people take part in the forum, it can be sometimes because only their partner will have or take the time to participate to the forum or in our case, that only 3 people will dare ask questions for all of them even if 10 or more are concerned or interested.
In a club you can always ask directly to others or discuss a point with other fellows. The need to take part in the forum's life is less important.
Anyway, for the authors, the main point is to have the remarks or questions rosen by anyone of the club members even if much more participate to the testing.

In our group of french beta testers, (10 + players including Jerome (Pike addict) and Olivier (Dvorkin)), nobody, until now, stopped after having tested the rule. In fact, everybody after completing a game is looking forward to find a new opponent... We do not have a lot of issues with the rule so far and we post some of our questions on the French forum.list_lurker Posted: 03 Sep 2007 12:07 Post subject:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From strictly personal experience, about 50% of the people I know that signed up didn't really like it and stopped playing
Simon
I am sure we will submerge the forum with our questions after the first French tournament

Regards
Lionel

Well, Paolo and myself had a first game last Friday, but as all we did was figure out the terrain
rules, then push BGs into each other, not much to write about I'm afraid. But now I have a
slightly better understanding, it would be of more interest perhaps. Certainly initial
impressions were good for me.
Couple of things that did seem of interest:
I did like the knight versus defensive spear interaction, possibly the first time it seems right
in any rules, to me at least.
Impact foot Dailami seemed good, and don't get rolled over in the open by cavalry as in
DBM.

Initial problem for me was that Simon (Elliot) got a new job which meant we couldn't play for ages.
Played at Roll Call and despite being thoroughly chewed up and spat out (I blame Hammy's army choice
) I felt it was a refreshing change from DBM.
Have played some 25mm since and started to get the hang of it...
So far I have a few feedback notes and will be doing a thorough re-read of rules after this weekend's comp looking for other niggles.
