Combat resolution

Post by nosher »

Two small average drilled reformed line units come face to face. The french unit is in tactical formation, the russian unit is in line.

Afetr firing (which caused no cohesion loss) the French Tactical Formation crashes into the Russian line. In the ensuing combat both score enough hits to make the other be considered to be wavering.

In combat resolution the inactive player who is wavering (in this case the Russians) retires.

What does the active player who is also wavering do?

a) Hold its ground as it is no longer in contact
b) Retire because it was in contact and is wavering
c) something entirely different

The French unit May * pursue unless Wavering.
It is Wavering so a) Hold its ground as it is no longer in contact.

Start moving down the chart in order from top to bottom, when you get to the appropriate line move from left to right, apply the attacker defender outcome moves as shown. You both use the same line, so as was pointed out since you both dropped to wavering the defender retires and your troops stand their and wave goodbye to them.
