Which version

Post by kevini1000 »

Hi,

I'm a little behind the times but which version is the most recent. I see 2.0 and see talk of 2.1/2.2 but can't find a download location for 2.1 or better.

Thanks :)

2.0 is the latest Slitherine version. The beta team finished 2.1 and is making the manual install available for those that are computer savvy.

I don't know why, exactly, but Slitherine seems to be dragging its feet regarding officially releasing it with a completed installer.

It's not that Slitherine don't want to do it. It's more that they need to free up people from other projects to actually make the installer. So I guess we will get some people working on the GS v2.1 installer when the games they want to release this Spring have all been completed. We understand completely that they put priority into getting new games they can sell to the market.

The wait will be worth it like the last big wait for an upgrade.
In spite of the Final Fantasy character it's pronounced sao-win after the Irish pagan god of death. I'm not a pagan but we're on a wargames website so I thought it fitting.
