Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
I'm not sure what to ask now so go ahead and take the initiative.
In spite of the Final Fantasy character it's pronounced sao-win after the Irish pagan god of death. I'm not a pagan but we're on a wargames website so I thought it fitting.

Does +2 Movement Points when moving adjacent to enemy unit influences naval units?
Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
I noticed that this thread kind of fell by the wayside. But I thought it was fun, so maybe we should give it one more chance? If no one objects to me taking the initiative, here's the next question:
Part 1 - What mod was the major precursor to CEAW: Grand Strategy?
Part 2 - What did the name stand for and why was it so named?

Hehe, I thought you might! It's good to remember the very beginnings of the wonderful mod we all enjoy so much, and the people who originally started it all.rkr1958 wrote:Ohh ... Ohh ... I know ... I know ... Though, I think I'll let someone else have a crack at this one.
(to take nothing away from the creators of the original CEAW

Part 1 - What mod was the major precursor to CEAW: Grand Strategy?
BJR Mod.
Part 2 - What did the name stand for and why was it so named?
Borger Joe Ronnie, the first names of the makers of the mod.
If I'm right then my question is if you play the 1939 scenario as Germany with Industry research difficulty set to 3, buy a General lab on turn 1 and spend a focus point on Industry on turn 1 then on which turn will you get the message "Industry Level 2 Completed"?

Not me! The "J" is Jim Potts. I helped with some beta testing later, but that was it.Samhain wrote:Part 2 - What did the name stand for and why was it so named?

But since you got most of it right, I guess you can have the initiative.

Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
doesn't the answer depend upon luck in research results and thus can't predict exact date?
Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
I have to admit that I too was confused by the question. Specifically,Schnurri wrote:doesn't the answer depend upon luck in research results and thus can't predict exact date?

Ah sorry. If random research is turned off and if in the general.txt file see the research difficulty part and set industry difficulty to 03.

Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
I think maybe I should drop out of this quiz. The answer's turn 4.

I'll go then. This is a two part question.Samhain wrote:I think maybe I should drop out of this quiz. The answer's turn 4.
1. EXACTLY, when does the 2nd Vienna Award treaty happen?
2. What is the significance to the axis player of this treaty?

Alright I'll give it to you. The exact answer I was looking for was:amcdonel wrote:Ronnie:

1. At the end of the axis turn 19 (8/26/40).
2. And in addition to Romania and Hungary joining the axis if Yugoslavia is attacked, Romania mobilizes an additional 2 corps and Hungary an additional 1 corps.
You have the initiative.
Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
Thanks! I have updated the manual calendar.
I pass on the initiative - I am not good enough for this without reading the manual

O.K., I'll go again.
Of all the leaders represented in GS, which leader holds the lowest rank, what is his rank and what is unique about it compared to all the other leaders represented?

Capt. Kodandera Madappa Cariappa. First Indian officer to be given command of a unit.
Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
You are correct. He is the only GS commander that holds a rank lower than a General. You have the initiative.Schnurri wrote:Capt. Kodandera Madappa Cariappa. First Indian officer to be given command of a unit.
Re: GSv2.10 Q&A Quiz Contest
Why is it always important to garrison the fortress adjacent to the Karelian peninsula even if the Finns have moved adjacent to Leningrad.
